THE DEADLIEST WARRIOR!!!

Alec Trevelyan[]

Alec Trevelyan by Sean Bean
Back from the dead. No longer just an anonymous star on the memorial wall at MI6. What's the matter, James? No glib remark? No pithy comeback?
— Alec Trevelyan

Alec Trevelyan is a former agent of MI-6, where he worked as a frequent partner and accomplice to James Bond. While on-mission the Soviet Union, Alec was apparently executed after being apprehended. Bond continues the mission, and the facility they were infiltrating exploded. Alec, who had actually been planning to betray MI-6 and faked his execution, was injured in the blast. Taking the name "Janus", Alec began a decade-long plan to destroy the United Kingdom.

When Alec stole an experimental helicopter and the GoldenEye satellite program, Bond ended up tracking down "Janus". Alec revealed himself and his origin; Alec's parents were Cossacks, who attempted to flee to England after collaborating with the Nazis, only to be deported to Russia and executed. Alec nearly kills Bond, before beginning his plan to utilize an EMP guided by the GoldenEye satellites. Alec is stopped when Bond sabotages the programming, and the two former friends fight. Alec loses, and falls down in their fight. Mortally wounded, Alec dies when the antenna array falls on top of him.

Raoul Silva[]

RaoulSilva
It's about her... and you, and me. You see, we are the last two rats. We can either eat each other... mmm... or eat everyone else.
— Raoul Silva

Raoul Silva is a former agent of Station H, where he worked under future MI-6 director M with a specialty in cyberterrorism. Defying her orders, Raoul is captured attempting to break into the Chinese government's secret files. M allows him to be taken prisoner in exchange for six hostage agents and a peaceful transition of Hong Kong's sovereignty. Silva is tortured for several months and attempts to commit suicide with his cyanide pill, only to botch the attempt and become disfigured. He escapes and becomes a cyberterrorist for hire, building funds to begin his revenge against M.

Decades later, Silva's agents capture a hard drive containing a list of MI-6 agents around the globe and releases it to the public, resulting in their deaths. Silva allows himself to be captured by James Bond, offering an alliance that is rejected. In an attempt to decrypt Silva's laptop, Q accidentally allows Silva to hack into their network. Silva and his men attempt to kill M during a government meeting, but fail when Bond interrupts his attack. Silva follows Bond and M to the former's home, where he manages to kill M before being killed by Bond himself.

X-Factors[]

Alec Trevelyan / X-Factor / Raoul Silva

85 Combat Experience 70

As a former field agent that worked alongside James Bond, Trevelyan would have seen a fair amount of combat and fighting prior to his days as a Bond villain. Additionally, Trevelyan is much more accustomed to getting into fights and dealing with problems by himself in a hands-on way, such as personally fighting Bond himself on multiple occasions during their conflict. Silva isn't a slouch on this regard, showing adequate talent when it comes to wielding firearms and working in fights. However, Silva's style is much more hands-off, allowing his henchmen to do his fighting while he himself sticks to the shadows to plot.

80 Physicality 65

Both in terms of age and feats, Trevelyan has a significant edge in terms of physcality. Despite the explosion that scarred his face, Trevelyan is more than capable of fighting and keeping up with the athletic James Bond on a physical level. In sharp contrast, Silva's suicide attempt has severely limited his own body's ability. He runs and moves with visible effort, and the left side of his face leaves him partially blind.

75 Intelligence 80

Trevelyan, despite his mind for strategy and generally solid plan, is relatively simple in terms of raw intelligence, relying on stealing a great device and his smarter henchmen to get it to work for him. He overestimated Bond's odds of surviving his various assassination attempts, as well as letting his anger blind him when his plans began to fall apart or when dealing with Bond himself. Silva is a thinker and a strategist first before a soldier. He's highly skilled in cybersecurity and other such technological fields, while his grand plan was on a much larger and more complicated scale that nearly succeeded on his first attempt, despite the vast amount of moving parts involved. Additionally, even with momentary hiccups, Silva easily readjusted his strategy and ended up succeeding - at the cost of his own life, that is.

80 Brutality 85

While both villains undeniably possess the killer instinct and dispassionate cruelty to kill whoever they deem necessary, Trevelyan loses out just slightly. His motive for vengeance is much more grand and abstract in nature, targeting an entire continent as opposed to any personal motive. Silva's motivation is much more personal, and as a result is more raw and potent. He views everyone around him as collateral damage to take down M, including his lover Severine and fellow agents James Bond.

Notes[]

  • Full votes require well-written edges OR a detailed explanation of at least ten sentences.
  • Half-votes are the previously mentioned requirements sans the "well-written".
  • Votes with little to no reason, bias, or irrelevant information will not count at all.
  • All votes must contain proper grammar and spelling.
  • All votes must clearly express a winner/if there is a tie. Don't beat around the bush, people.
  • These requirements are abstract; I reserve the right to count or discount votes depending on their individual merit.
  • My rebuttal policy is as follows; the initial rebuttal will reduce a vote to half, and a particularly outstanding rebuttal will reduce it to nothing. The first counter-argument, if adequate, will raise the vote back to full value. Going forward from there, all rebuttals and counter-arguments will only affect a vote if I believe it does so adequately.
  • Voting closes eventually.
  • The battle will be Alec Trevelyan and six Janus agents against Raoul Silva and six of his mercenaries.
  • The battle takes place in an abandoned military compound.
  • The Situation: Raoul Silva has been hired to discover the identity of who Janus is and their agents by a rival syndicate. Trevelyan learns of this plot, and begins to personally target Silva's operations in response. The crime war escalates when Trevelyan discovers Silva's location and plans to kill the terrorist.

Battle[]

No battle will be written.

Expert's Opinion[]

Despite the modern weaponry of Raoul Silva and his greater mind for long-term strategic thinking, many believed that those factors would not be able to compensate for his greater weaknesses. Trevelyan's weaponry, while not as high-tech as Silva's, was sufficient for the job, but what sealed the win was the man himself. Small-scale engagement are his specialty, and considering his greater skill as a fighter and his better physical condition, he could easily beat Silva in any situation where the odds weren't completely stacked against him.
