So user tournies these days are getting progressively more convoluted. I want to bring back the genre to its roots; a simple, one-v-one ancient weapons match.
Guidelines[]
Before giving the weapons categories, I’ll give a few guidelines:
- Be as specific as possible with your weapons. I will be adding descriptions if you don’t, and will take the most generic and literal description possible.
- Examples: if you put “morning star” you’re getting a spiked ball, of if you say “fire arrows” you’re just getting some fire shaped like arrows.
- I will call you on bullshit descriptions and, should they not be corrected or justified, will correct them myself. A solid steel zweihander will weigh a bit more than a pound.
- THis is going by Siege rules; if you don't mention it, you don't have it. This includes ammunition.
- Bios and physical descriptions are a must. Note that if your equipment will break you like a twig, you will be broken like a twig.
- All combat will take place in a circular arena with a 10-meter radius
- No gunpowder weaponry.
- No weaponry or equipment that’s excessively modern (i.e, pistol crossbows)
- No Greek Fire
- If you have poison, tell us what plant or animal it's from. Synthetic poisons are considered "excessively modern."
- No magic
Weapon Selection[]
Each user must indicate a “favorite” weapon out of their loadout. They will start holding this weapon, and their other weapons will be near their spawn point. For this reason, each weapon will be treated as an independent set. If you just list “shield” as a special, for example, you will only have a shield if you switch to it.
- Short Range: your close-combat weapon. Usually some sort of sword, axe, or club.
- Mid Range: your weapon for mid-range combat. Usually some sort of polearm.
- Long Range: your long-range combat weapon. Usually a throwing weapon or some form of bow.
- Special: an additional weapon.
- Armor: The armor you’re wearing. Note that this will be on you at all times. Don’t put shields here.
Additional Notes[]
- I will accept eight entries, however this will not be FIFO. Which entrants get through will be based entirely on the quality of the entries. I will enter if and only if there are not enough good entries to do this.
- This tournament will be run as a double-elimination tourney. What this means is that you have to lose twice to be eliminated.
- I will mention this now: Joke characters will not make the cut.
Entrants[]
So the final list of entrants is as follows:
- Cfp
- Skully
- Wass
- WinterSpider
- Elgb
- EA
- BG
- Alock
Brackets may be found here: link
Give me a bit to get the first match (Cfp v Alock) up.
