Albert Wesker (Resident Evil) vs Liquid Snake (Metal Gear)
There's no kind of villain that steals the spotlight quite like a hammy one does. This sort of villains utterly revels in their villainy, has an ego the size of a skyscraper, and pursues the hero with fiery hatred. They firmly believe in their superiority and will make sure you know it in the most over-the-top ways possible. While we root for the hero, we just can't help but love every performance that these magnificent bastards give us on their carefully curated quests for power. Today, I'm showcasing two villains whose legacies of hamminess lasted long beyond their deaths. Oh, and it's also another DHRI battle. Woohoo! The combatants are Albert Wesker, the mastermind behind the countless monstrosities of Resident Evil, and Liquid Snake, Sol…
Filia (Skullgirls) vs Shantae (Shantae)
Thanks to inspiration from the art of anime and manga, plenty of video games feature characters with exotic and improbable hairstyles. However, some of these characters take it a step further and utilize their luscious locks as lethal weapons. Today, we'll be comparing two quirky girls whose treacherous tresses help them fight their way through some of the weirdest and wackiest worlds in all of indie gaming. They are Filia, the amnesiac girl with a parasite on her head, and Shantae, the half-genie hero of Sequin Land!
Filia Medici was once the pampered daughter of a major member of the Medici mafia. One day, Filia adopted a stray dog who, unbeknownst to Filia, was the host to a powerful parasite named Samson. Samson remained incognito until t…
Caesar Anthonio Zeppeli (JoJo's Bizarre Adventure) vs Ken Masters (Street Fighter)
Nothing makes for a better catalyst for growth than a good rival. Rivals are the red oni to the hero's blue, burning with a fiery passion that challenges the hero to be the strongest he can be and overcome every new limit that stands in his way. As they test their strength against each other, it is often the case that the hero and his rival will build up a respect for one another that develops into a true friendship. For the second annual celebration of Brogust, I'm going to show off two hot-blooded warriors that fit the archetype of the rival to a T: Caesar Zeppeli, the suave master of Ripple and the rival of Joseph Joestar from JoJo's Bizarre Adventure, and Ken Masters, the fire-breathing street fighter and the rival of Ryu from Street Fight…
Deadliest Warrior Rematch: Celtic Warrior vs Persian Immortal
With the recent upturn in discussion about Deadliest Warrior on DF, there couldn't be a better time than now for me to perform my second rematch based on an episode of the TV show that inspired this place. In the eighth episode of the second season, Deadliest Warrior pitted a Celtic warrior from ancient Europe against a Persian Immortal from the Achaemenid Empire. The episode's ahistoricity quickly became apparent when the Immortal was portrayed as a charioteer and the Celt was equipped with a weapon that did not exist. I'm setting out to correct these issues and give both warriors the battle that they deserve. Between the barbarian warrior that dominated ancient Europe and the professional infantryman of the largest empire in the ancient Middle …
Benjamin Poindexter (MCU) vs Revolver Ocelot (Metal Gear)
Fiction is full of deadly marksmen. Among a multitude of gunmen and archers who can land a shot through the eye of a needle from a thousand meters away, how do you stand out? The answer is mathematics. With a little geometry, the world around you can become a pinball machine for all sorts of projectiles and you won't even need to see your target to hit them right between the eyes. Today, we have two warriors who are masters of the ricochet: Benjamin Poindexter, the unstable FBI agent turned the Kingpin's assassin from Daredevil, and Revolver Ocelot, the double reverse quadruple agent with a penchant for six shooters of Metal Gear! Which of these masterful marksmen is DEADLIEST?
Suffering from psychopathic tendencies from childhood, Benjamin "Dex"…
