There's no kind of villain that steals the spotlight quite like a hammy one does. This sort of villains utterly revels in their villainy, has an ego the size of a skyscraper, and pursues the hero with fiery hatred. They firmly believe in their superiority and will make sure you know it in the most over-the-top ways possible. While we root for the hero, we just can't help but love every performance that these magnificent bastards give us on their carefully curated quests for power. Today, I'm showcasing two villains whose legacies of hamminess lasted long beyond their deaths. Oh, and it's also another DHRI battle. Woohoo! The combatants are Albert Wesker, the mastermind behind the countless monstrosities of Resident Evil, and Liquid Snake, Solid Snake's tragic terrorist of a brother from Metal Gear! Who is DEADLIEST?

Dr. Albert Wesker was raised by a eugenics program intended to produce advanced humans. He earned his doctorate as a teenager and was hired by the unscrupulous Umbrella Corporation. As a double agent for Umbrella within S.T.A.R.S., a division of the police force of Raccoon City, Wesker betrayed his employers, using his status as a mole to gather data for his own ends. During an experiment gone wrong, Wesker injected himself with the Prototype virus, which granted him superhuman abilities. Wesker's new powers drove his ego to new heights. He began work on Uroboros, a new virus that, if released, would wipe out the majority of humanity and leave behind only a select few as superhuman beings with Wesker as their leader. Wesker's plans were foiled by Wesker's old colleague from S.T.A.R.S., Chris Redfield. Wesker was killed by Chris and his partner after an intense battle on an active volcano.
Wesker's Samurai Edge
Equipment:
- Samurai Edge: Wesker's sidearm is a Samurai Edge, a Beretta 92F customized for use by the Raccoon Police Department's S.T.A.R.S. division. Wesker has personally made various custom modifications to his Samurai Edge to improve efficacy, including the addition of a laser sight. The pistol fires 9mm rounds and uses 15-round magazines.
Powers and Abilities:
- Prototype Virus: Wesker injected himself with the Prototype virus, a unique strain of the t-Virus that dramatically increased his metabolism and granted him superhuman physical abilities. To prevent his powers from atrophying, Wesker requires regular and precise doses of a certain drug. The slightest mistiming or overdose will have the opposite effect.
- Superhuman Strength: Wesker's enhanced strength is so much that he can casually lift and throw missiles with one hand, punch cleanly through the fuselage of a cargo plane, or obliterate the bodies of giant Bio Organic Weapons with simple strikes. He can even overpower the famous boulder-punching Chris Redfield in a fistfight.
- Superhuman Speed: Wesker's most notable attribute is his superhuman speed and agility. His reflexes are so quick that he can catch rockets and dodge bullets from any kind of gun, making it almost impossible to shoot him without taking him by surprise. He can perform short bursts of speed faster than the average brain could comprehend, giving the illusion of teleportation. He can also pull off impressive feats of agility, such as perform multiple backflips in midair and leaping to great heights.
- Superhuman Durability: Wesker can be injured by knives and bullets, but the damage is invariably negligible. Even being crushed by thousands of pounds of steel girders or having a rocket explode in his face only had him incapacitated for a moment. Chris Redfield needed to weaken him with a drug overdose before being able to deal serious damage.
- Healing Factor: The injection gave him a regenerative healing factor. Serious burns, bullet holes, and stab wounds will all heal within minutes. Even death cannot stop him for long, for the virus will resurrect him if the majority of his body remains intact.
- Expert Martial Artist: Even without his viral enhancements, Wesker is an extremely skilled martial artist thanks to his years with the US Army and S.T.A.R.S.. Even those that can keep up with him physically like Chris have a hard time beating him in a straight fight. His unique fighting style displays elements of karate, kung fu, and muay Thai. Wesker enjoys pulling off stylish moves and utilizing his superhuman abilities to the fullest in his techniques to taunt and intimidate his opponents.
- Expert Marksman: Having been a soldier and a police officer, Wesker is an accomplished gunman, especially with his pistol. He's not quite on the level of Chris or Leon S. Kennedy, but he can still hit the tiniest targets at the greatest extent of his weapon's effective range while firing one-handed.

Through the machinations of the shadow government known as the Patriots, Eli was born as a product of Les Enfants Terribles, a project which aimed to create clones of Big Boss - the greatest soldier who ever lived. Eli was raised in England and, thanks to the soldier genes of his "father," was a military prodigy. He became the youngest-ever member of the Special Air Service before immigrating to the USA and joining the counterterrorist unit FOXHOUND, earning him the codename of Liquid Snake. Persuaded by his colleague Revolver Ocelot, Liquid launched an uprising against the government, intending to surpass his "father" by fulfilling Big Boss's dream of creating a haven for soldiers. Solid Snake - another product of Les Enfants Terribles and a special forces legend - was sent to end the incident. Snake foiled the plans of his "brother" and Liquid was ultimately killed by an assassination virus implanted in Snake.
Metal Gear REX
Equipment:
- FAMAS: Liquid carries a FAMAS G1, the service rifle of the reorganized FOXHOUND unit. The FAMAS is a bullpup assault rifle that fires 5.56mm rounds from a 25-round box magazine. It has three selective fire settings: semi-automatic, fully automatic, and three-round burst.
- Metal Gear REX: Metal Gear REX is a bipedal tank created to serve as a launch platform for nuclear weapons. REX was designed to fire warheads from a railgun without the use of chemical propellants, making the warheads undetectable and untraceable. REX stands at thirteen meters high and weighs over 500 tons. It is operated by a single pilot from within an enclosed cockpit. A radome on REX's left shoulder contains electronic sensors that send data to the cockpit's virtual reality interface, giving the pilot a complete view of their surroundings at all times. REX is covered from head to toe in heavy compound armor that is only vulnerable to something as powerful as a high-explosive anti-tank weapon. REX's one weakness is its radome which, if destroyed, would force the pilot to open the cockpit and expose themself to enemy fire.
- Weapons Systems: In addition to its intercontinental railgun, REX is equipped with three other weapons systems. On REX's back and legs are three launchers of AGM-114P laser-guided homing anti-tank missiles. XGAU-8R rotary autocannons are mounted on both sides of the cockpit. On the bottom of REX's main body is a free-electron laser cannon powerful enough to instantly slice through the body of a superhuman cyborg.
Liquid Defeats Gray Fox
Powers and Abilities:
- Superhuman Durability: Possibly as a result of his genetic modification, Liquid is far harder to kill than any normal human. He can survive being exposed to freezing temperatures, high-caliber bullets, vehicle explosions, and even missile impacts. In his last battle with Solid Snake, he was still on his feet after a Stinger missile explosion, the destruction of Metal Gear REX, a fistfight with Snake, a four-story fall, being riddled with machine gun rounds, and a jeep crash. It took a virus specifically designed to kill members of FOXHOUND to finally bring him down.
- Master Soldier: Thanks to Big Boss's soldier genes, Liquid possessed a natural talent for all military skills that was honed after decades of experience. He is an expert in infiltration, small unit tactics, parachuting, rappelling, scuba diving, the piloting of military vehicles, free climbing, and the use of small arms. As a twelve-year-old child, Liquid became the leader of a group of child soldiers in Africa and molded them into an army of raiders so dangerous that the local government hired mercenaries to neutralize them. Also as a child, Liquid displayed an inherent talent for hand-to-hand combat, disarming and defeating adult soldiers with ease and posing a threat to Venom Snake, Big Boss's body double. As an adult, he battled Solid Snake, a master of close-quarters battle and was barely defeated.
- Master Pilot: Out of all of Liquid's skills, his piloting abilities are the most notable. He once used a helicopter to shoot down two F-16s in the midst of a snowstorm and later wielded Metal Gear REX against Gray Fox, a superhumanly agile cyborg ninja, and killed him in a one-on-one battle.

Experience
Albert Wesker served in a non-combat role in the US Army and mostly used his role as the leader of S.T.A.R.S. to keep attention away from Umbrella's projects. Even after gaining his powers, Wesker preferred to stay in the shadows and work through agents. On the occasions that he did step onto the field alongside his new collaborators, he both defended himself from Bio Organic Weapons and battled against his rival, Chris Redfield, on more than one occasion. In their final clash, Wesker repeatedly overpowered Chris and his new partner and effortlessly overpowered them until they learned of his weakness, forced him to mutated himself with Uroboros, and ultimately killed him.
Liquid Snake's combat experience started when he was only a child. Having taken command of a militia of child soldiers, Liquid raided the surrounding lands and became such a threat that mercenaries were brought in to stop him. He later escaped his captors and, with the help of a Metal Gear and a psychic child, fought a three-way battle between his own militia, Venom Snake's mercenaries, and a rogue CIA unit. As a soldier and a spy during the Gulf War, he single-handedly destroyed four Scud missile launchers before being captured. As the leader of FOXHOUND, he battled against Solid Snake four times but was narrowly defeated each time.
Training
Wesker possessed a natural talent for espionage was trained as a spy and double agent in preparation for his intelligence missions for the Umbrella Corporation. During these operations, Wesker had basic training for the US Army and S.T.A.R.S. but mainly served in non-combat roles. His training essentially ended after the Mansion Incident, in which he faked his death.
Throughout his life, Liquid was mentored by master spy Revolver Ocelot to prepare him for the inevitable clash between Liquid and Solid Snake. As a teenager, Liquid underwent the brutal training of the British Army's Special Air Service and passed their ruthless selection tests to become their youngest-ever member. During the Gulf War, he was inducted into the Secret Intelligence Service and trained as a sleeper agent for a special mission in Iraq where he participated as a soldier and a spy. Liquid's intense training for a variety of different roles was among the reasons he was chosen to be FOXHOUND's new squad leader.
