Introduction[]

The Last Man Battalion is beginning their operations in Nevada, presumably to take on contracts from Las Vegas brokers. However, to complete their mission, they must remove their competition already operating in the area, the N51. WHO IS DEADLIEST?

Information source[]

N51[]

Operational Detachment Nevada 51, better known as N51, is a mysterious military group that shows up exclusively in late stages of Arena Mode in MADNESS: Project Nexus. They all wear unique types of kevlar armor and face concealing balaclava, with green yellow visors. They also come equipped with heavy armaments from assault rifles to LMGs and grenade launchers. N51's origins are mostly unknown, but the fact that Status Quo recognize them implies they have notoriety or history.

N51 make their sole appearance in the siege arena stage Hard Sell, where they attempt to destroy an artifact that the S.Q have excavated from the Nevadean Supermall. It is unclear why N51 wants to do this, but they are highly motivated enough to where they have sent entire platoons to carry out this mission. This makes them the only opposing force in Arena Mode to directly and intentionally sabotage S.Q operations.

Also unlike other arena enemies, N51 makes use of sophisticated squad tactics to accomplish their objective. They hold cover in their staging areas, initiate pincer attacks to overwhelm the objective, and can place demo charges on the shutter doors to allow their troops a quicker point of ingress. Each unit serves a particular role in the siege.

This was made a long time ago before I considered tabbering my blogs. I'm too lazy to change it now.

LMB[]

The Last Man Battalion (known informally as the LMB) was a private military company and one of the major enemy factions in Tom Clancy's The Division.

Founded and led by Lt. Colonel Charles Bliss, a highly decorated former officer in the United States Army's Special Forces, the LMB comprised almost entirely of former operators from the Army's premier light infantry unit, the 75th Ranger Regiment and the CIA's much feared Special Operations Group, the LMB employs some of the most highly trained and lethal mercenary contractors in the world.

Just before the Green Poison outbreak broke out, the company had been contracted to numerous classified black sites across Western Asia and North Africa, often on the behalf of the United States government. But as the situation in New York rapidly deteriorated, panicked Wall Street financial firms immediately hired the LMB to protect their servers and high-value physical assets stored onsite in their Lower Manhattan vaults. Already exhausted from their hazardous overseas duty, the company was unprepared for their new deployment into the viral maelstrom of the deadliest urban catastrophe in modern history.

X-Factors[]

N51 X-Factors[]

It's no doubt the N51 are skilled fighters. However N51's origins are mostly unknown and as such, there is not much to go off other than they're smart enough to utilize squad tactics. Not to mention, the Arena Mode Campaign takes place before the Story Mode Campaign, so we don't know their whereabouts during the fall of Nexus City. Nevertheless they should not be underestimated. In their sole appearance, Hard Sell, they fight the Arena Mode Protagonist who up to that point, has fought zombies, bandits, gangsters, Slaughter Time™ kill-clones, MERC, Agents on a train, ghosts and vampires. This isn't to say they're outmatched, as they can absolutely deal damage towards the AMP (since their skill depends on the player). This goes to show they are definitely able to handle powerful opponents.

N51 is arguably one of the most skilled enemies in the game. They also have high motivation as proven by their willingness to send platoon after platoon to destroy the artifact in Hard Sell. They hold cover when waiting in staging areas before reinforcement waves. N51 also knows how to do Pincer Movement. The pincer movement, or double envelopment, is a military maneuver in which forces simultaneously attack both flanks (sides) of an enemy formation. This classic maneuver has been important throughout the history of warfare. The pincer movement typically occurs when opposing forces advance towards the center of an army that responds by moving its outside forces to the enemy's flanks to surround it. At the same time, a second layer of pincers may attack the more distant flanks to keep reinforcements from the target units.

LMB X-Factors[]

Despite employing some of the most highly trained and lethal mercenary contractors in the world, LMB was already exhausted from their hazardous overseas duty. The company was unprepared for their new deployment into the viral maelstrom of the deadliest urban catastrophe in modern history being the Green Flu. Cut off from their clients and caught badly unprepared for the outbreak, their leader, Charles Bliss reluctantly formed an uneasy alliance with remaining elements of the JTF, offering his manpower in exchange for badly needed supplies to sustain their operations. Despite the occasional fraternizations between both organizations, the situation in New York continued to rapidly spiral out of control. Frustrated with the apparent indecision of JTF leadership and hamstrung heavily by ludicrous restrictions that prevented the LMB from securing the Financial District fully, the LMB's tenacious situation virtually collapsed when the JTF established the Dark Zone and pulled back to their main base of operations in Midtown.

Things got worse when agents of the Strategic Homeland Division began foiling their plans and even killed Bliss.

With the collapse of virtually the entirety of its commanding hierarchy, the PMC collapsed. Scattering into isolated units, many of these remaining units no longer posed a major threat to the JTF. Yet, weeks after this enormous setback, the surviving elements of the LMB rallied under the command of Captain Perez in their underground base in an attempt to wipe out The Division with their sole remaining APC. As JTF forces mounted an assault against their underground fortress, the ill-equipped attackers were wiped out quickly prior to the arrival of Division Agents. Despite this, the Division Agents continued proving adaptive, and successfully planted numerous explosives across the APC, resulting in the deaths of Captain Perez and his underground garrison.

In spite of their attrition, the LMB still boasts itself as one of the most organized and powerful factions within the game. A common tactic is for some soldiers to rush enemies. While they disregard their own safety, a flanking unit can attack the distracted enemies.
