WHO IS DEADLIEST?
SCP-096[]

| “ | You know, after hearing that thing's screams, and the screams of my men, I don't think I want to put a face to what I heard. No. Just...no.
— Former commander of retrieval team Zulu 9-A after being offered a drawing of SCP-096's face

SCP-096, nicknamed the Shy Guy, is an Euclid-class anomaly contained by the SCP Foundation. Because of its tendency to track and kill anyone who has seen its face, whether it be in person or through a photo, Foundation researcher Dr. Dan feared what may happen should a picture of SCP-096 leak onto the internet or to the press, attempted to convince the O5 Council to terminate it, with no success. Instead, Dr. Dan and his second-in-command, Dr. Oleksei, staged a containment breach to bolster their point, which cost the lives of several civilians and Foundation personnel in what came to be known as Incident 096-1-A. The plan worked to convince the O5 Council, but they would soon learn of Dr. Dan's involvement. Although they allowed Dr. Dan to spearhead the project to kill SCP-096, they also sentenced that he would be executed should he ever successfully terminate the Shy Guy.
- Superhuman Strength: 096 is super humanly strong, being able to smash through and bend the steel of the cube it was contained in (though it was likely put their to slow it down rather than keeping it in), flip a semi truck, tear open a minivan, and destroy 85% of SCP-682 (a giant reptile known for being near impossible to kill) before giving up. Another feat of strength was displayed during one experiment where it managed to dive to a depth 10,800 meters (35,433 feet) all on its own. When it catches its target, 096 doesn't stop tearing them apart until there is literally nothing left of them.
- Superhuman Speed: When pursuing its target, 096 can reach superhuman levels of speed. Documented speed have varied from 35 km/h (22 mhp) to a speed somewhere in the triple digits, depending on the distances between it and the one who saw its face. We don't know its exact top speed since it is blacked out in its entry, but it is able to out run helicopters and reached an underwater sphere in approximately 46 minutes despite being hundreds of kilometers removed from it. When it reaches its top speed, no material known to man can stop 096 from running through it.
- Superhuman Durability: 096 either can't feel pain or isn't phased by it as it took countless of shots that tore chunks from its flesh and wasn't phased. Even when half its torso was blown off, lost all its blood and most of its organs, it kept tearing through the MTF squad sent to recapture it, even though it took a hit from an AT4 anti-tank launcher, sustained fire from a GAU-19 heavy machine gun, and 'thousands of rounds' from small arms. It also didn't slow much from taking a shot to the leg and head from a XM500 anti-material rifle. Its skeleton also seems near unbreakable, as nothing the Foundation threw at it was able to damage it, including the aforementioned AT4 and GAU-19. 096 is also resistant to extremely low temperatures, can withstand great amounts of pressure (as displayed during the dive in the superhuman strength section), and either doesn't need to breathe or can hold its breath for a long time. It is also implied SCP-096 may have a healing factor, but if it does, it is very slow acting.
- Tracking: 096 always knows the location of the one who saw its face, no matter where they are.
Wolverine[]

| “ | I'm the best there is at what I do, but what I do best isn't very nice.
— Wolverine

Wolverine's life is mostly clouded in mystery even to himself. Born in Canada between 1882 and 1885, the man that is now largely known as simply "Logan" was born James Howlett, the illegitimate son of Elizabeth Howlett and the Howletts' grounds-keeper, Thomas Logan. When Thomas invaded the Howlett household in a drunken stupor and killed James' father. After this, the young James popped his claws for the first time and killed Thomas, before being driven off by his own mentally disturbed mother. Seeking redemption, James let himself be baptized and was renamed to Logan. From then on he wandered the world, his healing factor slowing his age significantly. As such he has lived a very storied life, having been an outlaw, soldier, spy, bounty hunter, samurai, and super soldier before finally becoming a member of the superhero team the X-Men.
- Adamantium Skeleton: Wolverine's entire skeleton is coated in adamantium, the toughest metal in the Marvel Universe. His bones are so tough that normal people tend to hurt themselves more than they do Wolverine when they punch him and it allows him to take hits from heavy hitter like Thor and the Hulk without sustaining any meaningful damage. That said, his tendons do not share the same durability as his bones and there have been numerous occasions where Wolverine had his body parts dislocated.
- Adamantium Claws: Wolverine has three retractable claws on each arm that are part of his skeleton, as such, they are coated in adamantium as well. Not only are these claws durable, but also razor sharp, being easily able to cut through metal, regular humans, and even pierce the skin of the Hulk, Thor, Gladiator, and Iron Man's suit. It also sliced through a foot of omnium steel, metal that is so strong that the it required Mr. Fixit (one of the Hulk's alter egos who is a bit weaker but still really strong) and Hercules struggled to bend it. That said, not even adamantium can cut through adamantium and Captain America's thick vibranium shield has stopped Wolverine's claws in the past.
- Berserker Rage: While not a proper ability, Wolverine is prone to berserker-like rages when in extreme anger or pain. While in this state, his strength is greatly amplified, which allowed him to send Vanguard (the Russian Captain America) flying a great distance and break free from Ursa Major's hold before tossing him, which is impressive considering Ursa Major is a giant bear man. He also becomes resistant to psychic damage and is able to ignore pain.
- Superhuman Stamina: Due to his healing factor, Wolverine possess superhuman stamina, being able to exert himself for days at peak performance without slowing down.
- Superhuman Strength: Owing to his mutant nature, Wolverine is pretty strong. He is able to overpower regular humans with easy and can throw heavy objects such as motorcycles and dumpsters like its nothing. His blows can even make heavy hitters like Venom, Sauron (the guy who wants to create dinos), Wendigo, and Sabertooth fly or at the very least stumble. His strength does know its limits as the likes of Spider-Man, Colossus, and Sentry have been able to overpower him in the past.
- Superhuman Speed: Wolverine is pretty nimble despite the fact he got a metal skeleton. He is consistently fast enough that regular humans can't keep up, sometimes appearing as a blur to them, and is able to keep up with Spider-Man (a hero known for his agility).
- Superhuman Senses: Adding to his animalistic nature, Wolverine possess superhuman senses. He can hear and see much further than a normal human, and his enhanced sense of touch allows him to feel minor changes to the air pressure, allowing to sense oncoming projectiles. His greatest sense, however, is his smell, which allows him to track individual people by scent alone.
- Healing Factor: Perhaps one of Wolverine's more famous abilities is his healing factor. Wounds inflected upon Wolverine can heal within seconds, though the speed of which they heal depends on the severity of said wound. Since the adamantium in his skeleton has been bound to his skeleton, it grows back along with his lost bones. With it he survived heavy gun fire, having his heart taken from his body, and even a nuclear blast. His healing factor can slow down if he sustains too many injuries and it does not stop him from being knocked out.
- Martial Arts: Due to his long life, Wolverine has mastered almost every form of martial arts, even having thought other skilled hand-to-hand combatants including Black Widow and Nightcrawler.
X-Factors[]
Experience & Training
Much of SCP-096's past is unknown, as his combat record. That said, there is two known instance of 096 fighting one is Incident-096-1-A where he had to fight off Mobile Task Force Tau-9. He was also one of the SCPs pitted against SCP-682, a reptile with the ability to adapt to pretty much anything, in an attempt to kill it. The fight lasted for 27 hours straight until 096 gave up.
Wolverine has been alive since the 18th century and has had quite the life. He has been a mercenary, samurai, spy, and soldier, having fought in World War 2. He has clashed against fellow heroes such as Captain America, the Hulk, and Spider-Man. As a member of the X-Men he would also go on frequent missions fighting against the Brotherhood of Mutants, which included various mutants each with their own power. He also has plenty of training from various masters and armies and frequently sparrs with his fellow X-Men.
Intelligence
According to its file, SCP-096 shows no signs of any higher brain functions, and is not considered to be sapient by the Foundation. It usually spends its time pacing around crying until someone sees its face, whereupon it becomes enraged.
Despite his gruff exterior, Wolverine is posses above normal level intelligence, speaking multiple languages, having acted as a spy, and lead teams of X-Men on numerous occasions.
Composure
When SCP-096 isn't non-stop crying, it is in an uncontrollable rage because someone saw its face. When in this rage state, 096 charges after and attacks whoever saw its face with a single-minded determination, ignoring everything around it, even people trying to attack it who haven't seen its face. Once it has reached it target, 096 doesn't stop attacking it until it is nothing but a blood smear on the ground, whereupon it goes back to crying.
Despite his wild nature, Wolverine is no animal and can keep his cool during a fight, trying to strategize and beat his enemies with superior skill. That said, despite his best efforts to keep his wild nature in check, Wolverine is prone to berserker rages. During these fits, Wolverine attacks with the intensity and aggression of an enraged animal.
Scenario[]
Having somehow ended up in the SCP universe, Wolverine was caught and contained by the SCP Foundation. Shortly after being brought to a Foundation facility, a containment breach occurs, causing Wolverine to break free and kill his captors in an attempt to escape. While on his way out of the facility, he happens to run into SCP-096 and makes the unfortunate mistake of looking at its face. Enraged, SCP-096 attacks Wolverine, who is forced to defend himself.
Worth noting is that during his fight against SCP-682, SCP-096 eventually gave up after 27 hours of combat. If Wolverine can keep fighting for the same amount of time without dying or getting knocked out, SCP-096 will give up, which will be considered a win for the X-Man. Considering 096's rage, ability to run through barriers, and track whoever saw its face, retreating from the fight is not an option for either warrior.
Note[]
While this battle will take place in a Foundation facility, neither warrior are at risk of being attack by Facility guards or Mobile Task Forces since they would be at risk of looking at SCP-096's face and becomming its next target.
