UNIT (Unified Intelligence Taskforce or United Nations Intelligence Taskforce) is a military organisation Operating under the auspices of the UN, its purpose is to investigate and combat paranormal and extraterrestrial threats to the Earth.
The United Nations were aware the world faced threats from extraterrestrial sources. Space programmes sent probes deeper and deeper into space; mankind was drawing attention to itself. Unable to get the British government to form a permanent special operations force for alien threats, Lethbridge-Stewart went over their heads to the UN Security Council, who proved more receptive. The UN established UNIT with the mandate to investigate, monitor and combat such threats. At the suggestion of Gilmore from the ICMG, Lethbridge-Stewart was promoted to the rank of Brigadier and put in charge of the British contingent. This contingent was organisationally known as Department C19 within the British government.
One of UNIT's first missions was an intensive investigation of International Electromatics that turned violent. UNIT agents were killed and UNIT launched a helicopter raid to liberate prisoners at an Electromatics' facility. With the help, again, of the Second Doctor, UNIT discovered the company was a front for a Cybermen invasion and was able to defend against it.
Lethbridge-Stewart became convinced of the necessity of scientific advice in battling extraterrestrial threats. He recruited Liz Shaw from the University of Cambridge. Coincidentally, the Third Doctor had been exiled to Earth by the Time Lords. He agreed to join UNIT as its scientific advisor just in time to help defeat the Autons.
The Doctor continued to assist UNIT. Liz and he helped them fight such foes as The Silurians and the Primords. Liz Shaw left UNIT and was replaced by Jo Grant as the Doctor's assistant, though she only had managed to get her A-levels in science. When he met her, UNIT made an enemy out of The Master. UNIT locked up the Master after several attempts to destroy Earth.
When the Doctor's exile was ended, his association with UNIT became more sporadic, especially after his regeneration into his fourth incarnation.
The Doctor did return to Earth with Sarah Jane Smith, but would work less with the Brigadier and more with such other officers as Colonel Faraday (the Brigadier having gone to Geneva) and Major Beresford. The Doctor, however, never officially left UNIT.
As a United Nations group, UNIT often served as security at peace conferences and the British contingent had foreign soldiers such as Sergeant Zbrigniev.
UNIT often faced hostility to its operations when investigating research facilities and companies. A common tactic against them was an appeal to any contacts in the Westminster government. These forced Lethbridge-Stewart either to back down or go over the government's heads to Geneva.
Lethbridge-Stewart retired in 1976 to teach mathematics at Brendon Public School. His successor was Colonel Charles Crichton. Benton and medical officer Harry Sullivan also left.
The Doctor re-united with UNIT in his seventh incarnation against an invasion by Morgaine and her armoured knights. The British contingent was commanded by a new, female brigadier Winifred Bambera. Lethbridge-Stewart was called out of retirement to assist them. This version of the Doctor would help UNIT officer Muriel Frost in the late 1990s in their struggle against the Mandragora Helix
At some point in the late 20th or early 21st century, a book on the history of UNIT was published. It is not known how much, if any information on the organisation's activities was included.
In the name of "homeworld security", UNIT adopted a contreversial attitude towards civil rights and liberties which the Tenth Doctor found disquieting. UNIT maintained a secret prison. Detainees could be held without charges being pressed or without the usual rights of prisoners. This suggested UNIT had a more malevolent side than other recorded encounters may suggest. Among those kept at one time as a prisoner by UNIT was Toshiko Sato in 2005 or 2006; she was only released when Jack Harkness and Torchwood Three convinced her to work for them.
In the late 20th and early 21st centuries, UNIT maintained a small division based in the United States, led by Brigadier General Adrienne Kramer.
At sometime prior to the 2009 Sontaran invasion, UNIT changed its name from United Nations Intelligence Taskforce to Unified Intelligence Taskforce. UNIT retained its traditional logos, even though they displayed the now-technically incorrect initialization "U.N.I.T."
At some point, the UK division of UNIT faced being shut down and replaced with domestic group ICIS (Internal Counter-Intelligence Service). When it became clear ICIS were brutal and dangerous, Lethbridge-Stewart and Colonel Emily Chaudhry deliberately revealed UNIT's remit to the press (stating UNIT had faced over two hundred invasions) and the existence of Silurian ambassadors. This was viewed as a hoax, but it forced the government to leave UNIT in charge of alien matters, leading to uneasy co-existence with ICIS.
Unknown to UNIT, their leader, Colonel Brimmicombe-Wood, was an ICIS plant who had been groomed to assume leadership of their rival. ICIS' involvement in an attempted coup and murderous attempts at framing UNIT led to their shutdown; UNIT thwarted the coup and stopped a worldwide pandemic, unfortunately losing temporary commander Colonel Robert Dalton in the process. Colonel Chaudry was given command of the UK contingent.
Before 2005, UNIT had been involved in multiple situations without the Doctor, including the Fourth Reich, the Guatemala "big locust" Problem, Operation Plainsong, the Skaniska Incident and the Jersey Tollgate Situation. 2005 saw the organisation increase its New York presence centred around a New York Liason Office for immediate briefing of the UN General Assembly. They also had been hosting annual conferences for several years. An officer named Major Jenny Maguire had had previous experience with the Doctor, who had annoyed her in unknown circumstances.
In 2006, UNIT sent a delegation to a gathering of experts to 10 Downing Street in response to a spaceship crash in the River Thames. All of the experts were electrocuted by the family Slitheen. The identities of the advisors killed were not known, although one woman officer bore the name "Frost" on her jacket. By this time, UNIT and the Torchwood Institute were aware of each other. UNIT asked for the assistance of Torchwood Three's Owen Harper during this incident. Toshiko Sato would fill in for him.
In 2006, a group of at least three Groske were stranded on Earth. UNIT found and recruited them.
In Christmas 2006, UNIT had a command centre in the Tower of London under the command of Major Richard Blake. UNIT maintained contact with Torchwood Three, even after the Battle of Canary Wharf. Torchwood Three's leader, Jack Harkness, would occasionally confer with the heads of UNIT and once asked for and received the help of Martha Jones, a medical doctor and former companion of the Tenth Doctor's, whom he and the Doctor had suggested for a position with UNIT.
By 2008 UNIT operated an aircraft carrier airship, the Valiant, which was mainly designed by British Minister of Defense (actually the latest incarnation of the Master) Harold Saxon.
Sarah Jane Smith remained in friendly contact with UNIT, leading to its involvement in cleaning up a Slitheen plot.
Prior to the 2009 Sontaran invasion, Martha Jones, an ex-companion of the Tenth Doctor was tasked with alerting him about it when the preparations for the invasion were discovered. Apparently, now-Sir Alistair Lethbridge-Stewart still had some involvement with UNIT at this time, though he had gone to Peru for undisclosed reasons.
Following the defeat of the Sontarans, UNIT began reverse-engineering technology scavenged from the aliens, and launched Project Indigo to create a backpack-sized teleportation device. Jones was seconded as medical advisor for the project (it was top secret, although Harkness found out about it), and stationed at UNIT's base in New York City. UNIT also developed a contingency plan called the Osterhagen Project; in the event of global conquest that seemed unending, any three out of five UNIT facilities would end humanity's suffering by destroying the planet with nuclear weaponry under Earth's crust.
Following the relocation of the Earth and two-dozen other planets to the Medusa Cascade, UNIT went on high alert, and then a war footing as the Dalek invasion began. Both the Valiant and the New York headquarters were overrun by Daleks and destroyed, and the United Nations surrendered soon after. Martha Jones escaped using the Project Indigo device, maintaining possession of an Osterhagen key in the process. She reached the Osterhagen Station in Germany. The Chinese and Liberian stations had been already activated. She was teleported away by the Daleks before the bombs could be triggered. The Doctor later asked her to have the Project dismantled (though whether she was successful is unknown).
UNIT and Torchwood made a joint effort to investigate the voices coming from the Mariana Trench. UNIT supplied the submarine, the Octopus Rock, and the ship to transport it, the USS Calvin.
During Easter 2009 UNIT was called out to a tunnel near Brixton after a bus carrying the Doctor and other passengers had gone through a wormhole. The Tenth Doctor contacted the senior officer on site, Captain Erisa Magambo and also spoke with their scientific adviser Professor Malcolm Taylor. He managed to get the bus back to its original location but the Swarm arrived on Earth. Magambo and UNIT fought the stingrays. The Doctor recommended to Magambo that there might be two more potential UNIT recruits from the bus, namely Barclay and Nathan.
When the Master turned every human into a copy of him on Christmas Day 2009, UNIT came under his command. When the Doctor piloted the Hesperus to Joshua Naismith's mansion, the Master Race-controlled UNIT fired missiles at him. Wilfred Mott and Rossiter the Vinvocci destroyed them. When Rassilon and his Time Lord guard arrived at the mansion, his first act was to reverse the Master race back to their human forms.
On 4 May 2010, after the Eleventh Doctor had destroyed an awaking Cyberman army, he predicted that a lot of questions would be asked by UNIT. He advised Chisholm to simply mention his name.
Later that year, rogue Colonel Tia Karim leagued with Claw Shansheeth to gain The Doctor's TARDIS. They created a ruse that the Doctor had died and prepared his funeral in UNIT Base 5 so they could drain the life force of Sarah Jane Smith and Josephine Jones through their memories of the Doctor. They attached them to the Memory Weave and began the process to conjure a TARDIS key. The machine was overloaded by the many memories of Jo and Sarah Jane and it self-destructed, killing the group.
In 2011, after the Miracle Day phenomenon was negated, UNIT sealed off the Blessing.

Battle vs. Silver Guardians (by So-Pro Warrior)
In Silver Hills a group of UNIT soldiers has just finished defeating some Sontarrens and have already taken care of the bodies. Lt General Sanchez and 9 UNIT soldiers are all that remain off the UNIT team and are on their way out of the factory building they are in. All off a sudden a couple of cars pull up and out step strange men who aim their weapons at the UNIT soldiers. The UNIT men all look in confusion and then out of the lead vehicle steps out a man wearing a red beret.
"Who are you" Sanchez asks
"We are The Silver Guardians protectors of Silver Hills and I'm Eric Myers leader of the Guardians" Eric replies
"We got reports of gun firing from this building and were sent to investigate and now we find you here."
"So if I were you I would like an explanation on why you and your "friends" are here otherwise we're bringing you in."
"Lt. shouldn't we tell them whats going on?" a UNIT soldier asks Sanchez
"Do you really think they are going to believe us" Sanchez replied.
"I repeat identify yourself or we will be forced to bring you in." Eric interrupts
"OPEN FIRE!" Sanchez orders
All the UNIT soldiers open fire with their Olympic Arms K23B and strike two Silver Guardians

"Return fire!" Eric orders
The Silver Guardians return fire with their Pistols and Machine Guns and kill 2 UNIT soldiers
. "Retreat" Sanchez yells and the UNIT soldiers retreat into the factory building. "After them" Eric yells and the Silver Guardians take the Machine guns off their Bipods and carry them on the shoulder and the Guardians head into the building. Eric orders the Guardians to split up and while 3 follow him the other 4 will head up the stairs. The 4 Guardians head into the stair way and look up the stairs to see if it's clear and move up. As they reach the 4th floor a UNIT soldiers kicks open the door to the stairs and fires his Olympic and kills the leading Silver Guardian but the others return fire with their pistols and kill the UNIT soldier. Meanwhile Eric and the other 3 Guardians are checking the Main factory area when a UNIT soldier on the walkway opens up on them but they quickly take cover and a Guardian with a Shoulder held Machine Gun opens up hitting the shoulder and making him fall to the ground. The Guardians then move up and head up the stairs to check the office up the stairs and they stack up near the door. Eric orders one off the guardians to kick it open and when he does he is riddled with bullets from a UNIT soldier who was covering the door and as the Guardian with the Machine Gun tries to kill him he is killed as well. Eric blindfires at the UNIT soldier ans while he does the other Guardian rushes in and puts a round into the UNIT soldiers head. Meanwhile the 3 Guardians on the other side of the building are checking the office area and just when they don't see anything 3 UNIT soldiers get out from behind cover and open fire on the Guardians and so the Guardians get to cover and return fire with their pistols. As the two teams exchange fire one of the UNIT soldiers runs out off ammo and takes out his SIG P226 and as he aims at a Silver Gaurdian another Guardian shoots at him and hits him in the forehead but he is quickly killed by a round to the head. While the two teams exhange fire Eric and his other Guardian come in from the back and flank the UNIT soldiers and kill them but a ricochet bullet from one of the soldiers hits the Guardian next to Eric. Eric and the last two Guardians regroup
"Sir looks like the area is secured" One of the Guardians say
"Hold on weren't there two others sir" The other Guardian replies
Just then both Guardains are killed with bullet holes in there heads and Eric quickly rolls to the cover off a nearby desk. He peeks out of the corner and sees Sanchez and the other UNIT soldier looking for him and he pops out quickly and puts a round in the other UNIT soldier. Sanchez retreats and Eric chases after him. The chase ends when in the boiler room Eric jumps and grabs the General's legs which makes him drop his pistol and falls into the lava pot below. As Eric gets up and points his gun at the General Sanchez kicks the gun out off Eric's hands and then kicks him in the face. Both off them get up and wait for one off them to make a move. Sanchez makes the first and Eric just dodges it and knees the General in the stomach. As the General throws another puch Eric dodges and does a slide kick which makes the General fall down again. As the General gets back up Eric can tell that he is tired and knows that its time to end it. So as Sanchez throws another punch Eric grabs it turns around and flips Sanchez over the railing and Sanchez yells as he falls into the lava boiler below and as he falls in he melts into nothing. Eric looks over and then says "Your Time's Up" and grabs his pistol and walks away.

While UNIT had military training and did fight agaisnt tough opponents The Silver Guardians won because of their more better weapons, their better leader, and because when it came to small team combat the Guardians were ready because UNIT always fought in an army size never 10 men only.

Battle vs. SHIELD (MCU) and NEST (by So-Pro Warrior)

The SHIELD transport lands on the ground and Nick Fury and the 14 SHIELD Agents with him exit the transport and head to the crash site of the Dalek saucer. At the crash site Alan Mace along with 14 UNIT soldiers have secured the area and are searching for signs of Dalek survivors and while Mace and 10 UNIT soldiers stay outside the other 4 secure the inside of the ship and find no survivors and prepare to set explosives to the ship. However outside of the ship and near a large pile of rubble Nick Fury and the agents of SHIELD get to cover and spot the Dalek saucer along with UNIT soldiers guarding it.
"So we aren't the only ones looking for the tech on this ship wonder who they are?" Fury says
"They could by HYDRA agents sir just disguised so they aren't recognized." A SHIELD Agent says.
"Maybe alright get the men into position and get ready to engage them." Fury says
The SHIELD Agents get into positions and take aim with their M4A1 Carbines, AKM's, and SIG SG 552's and Fury takes aim with his M4A1 and on Fury's orders the SHIELD Agents open fire on the UNIT soldiers. Mace and the UNIT soldiers quickly turn to see Nick Fury and the SHIELD agents and Mace quickly yells "GET TO COVER CONTACT!" the UNIT soldiers and Mace quickly take cover but one UNIT soldier is riddles with bullets and dies instantly. Mace takes out his SIG P226 and fires back at Nick Fury and the Agents of SHIELD while the other UNIT soldiers including the ones inside the ship who quickly run out and into cover return fire with their M4A1 Carbines, Heckler and Koch G36's, and Olympic Arms K23B's. Mace takes aim with his SIG and fires at a SHIELD Agent and scores a hit on the Agent's head. Unknown to both SHIELD and UNIT nearby a team of NEST soldiers lead by William Lennox have entered the area and hear the gunfight between SHIELD and UNIT.
"Alright men it looks like we have unkown hostiles at that crash site and sounds like they aren't friendly so we need to be careful got it." William Lennox says
"Yes sir!" The NEST soldiers say
The NEST soldiers get into cover near the crash site and see the firefight going on between UNIT and SHIELD and Lennox gets his men into position and tells them to wait for his signal to open fire. Lennox takes aim with his Bushmaster ACR while the rest of the soldiers around him take aim with their M4A1 Variants and SCAR's. Lennox fires a shot at one of the UNIT soldiers and manages to strike him through the back of his head. The other NEST soldiers open fire and a NEST soldier with a M4A1 manages to strike a SHIELD Agent with a couple of rounds to the torso. Mace has some of the UNIT soldiers to focus their attention on the NEST team and Nick Fury does the same with his SHIELD agents. A UNIT soldier fires at a NEST soldier with his G36 and manges to score a headshot to the NEST soldier but a SHIELD Agent fires his AKM and manages to down another NEST soldier. All three special forces soldiers continue to exchange fire at one and other which continues on for a long time.
Time: 5:05PM
The fight between the three special forces soldiers has been going on for 10 minutes and UNIT is the first to make a move.
"Sir we are surrounded on all sides this is not a good position we have enemy forces on both our front and rear flanks we need to pull out of this area." A UNIT soldier says
"MEN we need to split up to divide their forces the 6 of you will come with me you men will head in the opposite direction." Mace says
"Yes Sir!" The UNIT soldiers reply
Mace and the UNIT soldiers all start running into the two opposite directions however one of the UNIT soldiers with Mace doesn't make it and is shot as he is running away. Both Fury and Lennox order their men to also split up to look for the two groups of soldiers. Lennox and Fury take 6 of their men with them and head in the same direction as Mace while their other soldiers head the other way.
On one side on the city of London...
The six UNIT soldiers enter a warehouse and while two of them secure the front the other UNIT soldiers head out to secure the rest of the house. Unknown to them is that NEST had already entered from the back of the warehouse however both teams don't know of each others presence. At the front of the house the two UNIT soldiers keep an eye out for signs of the other two Special Forces teams. Just then a bullets start hitting the walls near the windows where the two UNIT soldiers are and they both get to cover. One of the UNIT soldiers sees where the shots came from and directs the other UNIT soldier to the position and they both open up at the location. At the location are the six SHIELD agents who continue to fire at the UNIT soldiers at the front of the Warehouse. One of the UNIT soldiers grabs the Stinger missile from the other UNIT soldiers back and takes aim at the location of the SHIELD agents location and fires. The missile travels to the location and while four of the SHIELD agents escape the blast two of them are not lucky and while one gets blown backthe other gets blown up. A SHIELD agent gets up from his cover grabs the RPG from his dead allies back and fires at the location of the UNIT soldiers. The RPG impacts on one of the windows and kills the UNIT soldier at the window. The other UNIT soldier gets injured tries to get up but finds his leg torn in half because of the shrapenel and grabs his Olympic Arms K23B and waits for the SHIELD agents. Meanwhile on the other side of the warehouse the other four UNIT soldiers hear the commotion and decide to send one of their men back to investigate on the others. However as soon as the UNIT soldier exits the room that he and the other soldiers were in he is greeted with shots to the back by the NEST soldiers. The UNIT soldiers hear the shots and one of them takes aim at the door and then one of the NEST soldiers tries to enter the room but is met with a bullet to the head. The NEST team stack up at the door and the NEST soldier in the lead pops out with his SCAR-L and fires at the UNIT soldiers and while firing signals the NEST soldier in the back to get to the other side of the door. The NEST soldier quickly runs to the other side of the door and both NEST soldiers open fire on the UNIT soldiers and manage to kill one of the UNIT soldiers. Meanwhile back at the front of the warehouse the SHIELD agents make their move on the building and as the leader enters the building the UNIT soldier that survived the RPG fires his K23B and kills the lead SHIELD agent but is put down by the other SHIELD agents that enter. Back at the back of the warehouse another NEST soldier tries to get to the other side of the door but a UNIT soldier manages to hit the NEST soldier in the leg, the NEST soldier on the other side helps the injured NEST soldier to the other side and puts him against the wall until the others can help him. The NEST soldiers decide to storm into the room to handle the last two UNIT soldiers and they charge in and mange to kill both of the UNIT soldiers but two of their men are also killed. The remaining two NEST soldiers secure the room meanwhile outside the injured NEST soldier hears footsteps and takes out his Glock 17 and as soon as he sees a SHIELD agent he fires at the SHIELD agent and kills himanother tries to enter but is also shot dead by the NEST soldierthe other two SHIELD agents enter and fire their SIG and AKM at the injured NEST soldier and kill him. The other two NEST soldiers take up position and one SHIELD agent enters the room but his shot dead by the two NEST soldiersthe other enters and manges to kill one of the NEST soldiers but the last NEST soldier shoots the SHIELD agent dead with his ACR. The NEST soldier gets out from cover and exits the room, he heads to the front and finds the two dead UNIT soldiers and after securing the front area tries to contack Lennox through radio but finds himslef unable to and decides to go look for Lennox's team.
Meanwhile on the other side of the city...
Mace and his five remaining UNIT soldiers are moving through the ruins of the city of London until Mace orders his men to hold up and get into position. They see before them Nick Fury and his six SHIELD agents and on Mace's orders open fire on the SHIELD personel and as the SHIELD agents head for cover two of them are killed in the open. Fury and the last four of his SHIELD agents return fire on Mace and his UNIT soldiers and one of the SHIELD agents with his M4A1 Carbine manage to hit one of the UNIT soldiers in the head. As the UNIT soldiers continue to fire on the SHIELD agents another UNIT soldier gets hit in the back and falls down dead. Mace turns around to see Lennox and his six NEST soldiers and directs two of his UNIT soldiers to the back and fires at the NEST soldiers and manages to strike one of the NEST soldiers in the head with his M4A1 Carbine. Lennox orders one of the NEST soldiers to take out the AT4 and fire at the UNIT soldiers position. The NEST soldier takes the AT4 off of his back and takes aim at the UNIT soldiers position and fires. However the UNIT soldiers warns Mace and the other UNIT soldier and all four duck down in time for the rocket to pass over and heads to the SHIELD agents position. The rocket explodes on the ground and as Fury and two of his agents survive the two near to the explosion are blown back with a bunch of shrapenel into them and die. One of the SHIELD agents fire at the NEST soldier with the AT4 and hits him with four rounds to the chest. The UNIT soldier gets back up and kills another NEST soldier as the soldier tries to drag the dead NEST soldier to safetyand then Mace orders the UNIT soldiers to fire the Stinger Missile at the NEST soldier and as the UNIT soldier stands up and hands over the Stinger to the other UNIT soldier he is shot dead with bullets from both NEST soldiers and SHIELD agents and dies. The other UNIT soldier fires his Stinger missile at the NEST soldiers, Lennox yells "INCOMING!" and while him and another NEST soldier dodge the blast the other NEST soldiers aren't as lucky and die as the explosion blows them back. Lennox gets back up and fires his ACR at the UNIT soldiers and manges to kill them both with a bullet to the chest and then to the headand tries to fire at Mace but finds himself out of ammo and takes out his Glock 17 and helps his NEST soldier up and start running to Mace's position. Fury and his last SHIELD agent se this and decide to start running to Mace's position as well but Mace sees this and first fires and kills the SHIELD agent, then turns around and fires at the NEST soldier next to Lennox. He turns around and tries to fire at Fury but soon finds out that his SIG P226 is out of ammo and so as he tries to reload both Nick Fury and William Lennox fire their Glocks at Mace and in all put 10 rounds into him before they have to reload(All UNIT soldiers are Dead). Both Lennox and Fury both reload at the same time and finish reloading at the same time and fire one bullet at each other but both have the same idea and slide to cover and thus dodge the shots. Both pop out every now and then trying to kill one another however Fury pops out and fires his Glock 19 at Lenox but as he does jumps out of cover and ducks down behind the cover Lennox is behind and as he pops out Fury grabs his hand and pulls him over the cover. Hetries to fire his Glock 19 but Lennox kicks Fury in the face and flips Fury over him and both Fury and Lennox get up and get ready for Hand-to-Hand combat. Lennox is the first to throw a punch but Fury blocks it and punches Lennox in the stomach, Lennox stumbles back and throws a kick at Fury who ducks down and kicks Lennox in the stomach. Lennox tackles Fury to the ground and begins to punch him repeatedly in the face until Fury uses his feet as leverage to get Lennox off of him. Lennox lands right next to his Glock 17 and grabs it but as he points it at Fury he sees that Fury had already grabbed his Glock 19. However as Fury is about to fire Fury hears a sound behind him and turns around to see the surviving NEST soldier who fires his M4A1 Carbine and hits Fury in the shoulder but finds himself out of ammo which gives Fury time to fire at the NEST soldier who falls down with 2 bullets in his chest. Fury then hears the click of a gun and knows that Lennox is pointing his Glock 17 at his head, Lennox pulls the trigger and puts a bullet through Fury's head. The director of SHIELD falls down dead(All SHIELD agents are dead). Lennox sighs in relief and goes over and finds the NEST soldier alive and helps him up, the two survivng NEST members yell in victory and then Lennox gets on the radio and calls for pickup.

Expert's Opinion
This Battle was the closes I've had but in the end NEST won this Battle. This was due to the fact of their good balance of both Weapons and X-Factors. In the end while both UNIT and SHIELD had faced powerful foes it came down on the fact that both of those two team had to rely on help most of the time where NEST had become more powerful after their first encounter with the Decepticons. They didn't need as much help as before as thanks to the Autobots for the upgrading of their weapons, their training which helped them a lot, and the tactics they used in the field to combat their foes. They dominated in the majority of X-Factors, and had the weapon ranges of Close Range, and Long Rang #3 on their side.

Battle vs The Preachers (by Wassboss)
"Alright men listen up, we have detected signs of universal hoping if you will. We have determined that these are likely from the cyber universe and so it is possible that these immegrants if you will may be a cyber origins so we are ordered to shoot first and ask questions later. You got that?"
The 5 men nod their heads and begin to load thier weapons out of the truck giving thier leader a chance to survay his allocated team. Lieutenant Street first looks at the highest ranked member of his team, Major Thomas, who has been with UNIT the longest out of the men but has failed to gain any higher than major thus far. The next two he looks over are Sergent Murphy and Sergent Nicholls, who are both excellent marksmen, or so he's been told. He next watches as Private Dale unloads the stinger from the back of the van, struggling slightly with it. Finally his eyes rest upon Private McDonold who stands at full attention not wanting to mess up anything on his first real mission with a UNIT team.
After a few minetes the team is ready to go, most of the men armed with the standard UNIT assault rifles, with private dale having the unfortunate task of having to carry a large and heavy rocket launcher around with him. "We'll enter through the back so we don't alert anyone inside to our presence. We want to suprise any enemies not vica versa understand" Street commands and his men give him a quick nod to show that they understand. "Alright then, Major Thomas lead the way" he says and Thomas immediatly heads round the side of the building, with McDonold, Nicholls, Murphy, Street and finally Dale following him in single file ready for the mission ahead.
Meanwhile
Josh Belenski stands over the shattered body of a cyber leader, the barrel of his pistol still smoking from the recent battle. Around him his teammates stand, sit or lean agaisnt the walls of teh factory ,exhausted from the battle. Josh loads another clip into his pistol and holsters it, picking up his Norinco which was knocked from his hands earlier. "Come on men, we don't have time to lounge around" he says abrubtly, raising a few eye brows from his fellow preachers. "Who died and left you in charge" one of the men says raising a few laughs from the other men. "Ben, we can't just lolly gaggle, we have to get back to our own universe before something or someone else attacks us" is Josh's reply which is followed by the sound of faint footsteps slowly approaching the door at the far end of the room.
"S**t" mutters Josh, his teammates grabbing thier weapons and going from relaxed to alert in mere seconds. Immediatly as they do so 5 men burst into the room, opening fire on the six preachers. Ben and Josh manage to leap for cover as do 3 more of thier men but one is riddled with bullets. (6-5)
The preachers soon return fire and force the UNIT soldiers to find cover of there own, which is not difficult because of the many crates scattered around the place. Josh spots another UNIT soldier enter the room and opens fire on him, striking him several times in the neck and the chest. As the Dale falls backwards he pulls the trigger on his Stinger, sending a rocket spiralling towards the nearest preacher and blowing him to kingdom come. (5-4)
"Dammit were losing men faster than sonic on speed" josh whispers to ben, who is coruched next to him firing his gun wildley at the UNIT Soldiers. "We can't win in a head on firefight seeing as how we are outnumbered, Our only option is to retreat and hope that we can ethier escape or ambush them" ben replies and tosses his rifle aside, cursing at running out of ammo. "Okay, You and craig are going to go right and Me and James are gonna go left" Josh says and ben nods his head in understandment.
Josh waits untill he sees an opening and charges for the left door, bullets whistling past his head. "James with me" he shouts over the roar of gunfire and one of the men jumps out from behind his own crate and runs after him, using other boxes, crates and metal beams as cover. The two men then dissapear out of sight, which is Ben's que to run over to Craig, avoiding bullets in the same way james did. "Let's go craig" he says to him and the two men exit the room through the right exit, Ben bending down to pick up an energy blaster as he does.
Lieutenant Street signals for his men tom cease fire and survays the carnage. Two enemy soldiers bodies lie across the floor with countless bullet shells strewn all over the place. Finally his eyes rest on the slumped over body of Private Dale, the Stinger resting next to him. "Right men, here is the plan. Sergent Nicholls you are going to take Private McDonold and Sergent Murphy and follow the hostiles that went left. Major your with me". "What about Dale" McDonold says, glancing over at the body of the private. "We will mourn him later Private, the mission must be completed no matter what tragedy happens" Street says, getting a simple nod in return. "Move out men" he says and the Men each head off on there specified missions, knowing how close and real death is.
2 Minuetes Later
McDonold slides open the door into the the printer room and pokes the barrel of his G36 through the small gap, before determining the place safe and entering the room fully. "It's safe Sergent" he shouts back and Sergent Murphy enters the room, closely followed by Nicholls. "Where the hell have they got to" sergent Nicholls shouts frustratedly. McDonold is about to reply when the unmistakable sound of gunfire sends an entire round into McDonolds chest. (4-4)
Nicholls and Murphy barely have enough time to draw thier weapons and just as they do more gunshots sound from a completey different place and bullets slam into the two men, murphy first and nicholls not long afterwards. As Nicholls falls backwards he spots a person, crouched down behind a crate. Drawing his SIG he empties the clip at the person, smiling slightly as all the bullets hit there mark. Just as he does he cracks his head off the side of a metal compartment, his vision going black as he drifts off into afterlife. (2-3)
Meanwhile
Thomas and Street run down through the corridors of the abandoned warehouse in hot pursuit of there foes. After catching sight of the two men they have been running after them ever since and they are starting to tire. "Dammit i'm not as young as I used to be" Street wheezes, pausing to bend over and breath heavily. "Come on Lieutenant, we can't let them escape now" Thomas replies turning a corner and being immediately thrown back, with a gaping hole in the middle of his chest. (1-3)
"Dammit" is all that Street as time to say before he is forced to barrel roll into a nearby room to avoid gunfire from a preacher soldier. He pokes the barrel of his assault rifle round the corner and riddles the unfortunate preacher with bullets, running out of ammo in the process. (1-2)
Street draws his pistol and rolls to the side to avoid a blast from the energy beam. He then empties the rest o his SIG magazine into the man. (1-1)
Then josh has a heart attack and dies. (1-0)
Expert's Opinion
While the Preachers had the Energy Blaster which was a very powerful and highly advanced weapon UNIT has the far better training, experience and overall skills which the preachers just didn't have.
