Die! And take your avocado toast-flavored, duck-faced narcissism with you!
— Turner.D.Century

Clifford F. Michaels was the son of a chauffeur who worked for a millionaire named Morgan MacNeil Hardy. Hardy had seen the 1906 San Francisco Earthquake and was responsible for much of the rebuilding of the city. He was ashamed at the "degeneration of manners and mores" in the following decades, especially since the beginning of World War I. Hardy tried to foster a movement in favor of traditional values, but he failed.

By that time, Michaels's father had died and Hardy took young Clifford as a foster son. He tried to teach him of the moral values of the first years of the 20th century and, to do so, he restricted Clifford's access to the "outside world". Thus, Clifford Michaels had been raised to believe in the moral and values of the beginning of the 20th century. As an adult, he discovered how far his ideas were from the real world, and he soon began to hate the social changes. He then tried to impose those values in the modern world using the alias of Turner D. Century. He had a hairstyle from the 1900s, including a handlebar moustache, and dressed in a costume popular among middle-class young men in the year 1900 in the U.S.: Straw boater hat, striped green jacket, and white trousers. He began his criminal career by randomly attacking people on the street because they represent the value he resents. Despite some minor property damage, no one was hurt during his rampage. He was subsequently captured and sent to jail by Spider-Woman easily. In later years, he would break out of the jail during jailbreaks initiated by major villains, pop up from time to time and made the same attempt to advocate for his views through randomly attacking civilians. His activities resulted in his conflict with Superior Spider-Man, Punisher and several other heroes. He was defeated without much effort on each occasion.

On one occasion he ended up getting killed by the Punisher alongside many other villains during an event. But apparently Dormammu resurrected him and he went back to his old ways of crime.

Battle vs. Captain Stingaree (By User:Battlefan237)[]

Right Outside Dark Side Club, DFederal

"WATCH IT, YOU CREDIN ! " Shouts the man who calls himself Turner D Century, as he cycles into the pub on his flying bike, almost crashing into a man.

"You're the one who's riding a bike inside a bar, you frigging moron. And now you're ordering me to watch out ? Let me tell you something, pal, you've just made the fearsome Captain Stingaree your enemy ! I, the king of seven seas, will not sit back and allow an idiot like you to walk out of this bar alive, after you have insulted me. " The man, who reveals himself to be Captain Stingaree, shouts back in defiance, as he raises his pistol, quickly firing three shot at the man on the bike. Century doesn't even need to dodge aside, as Stingaree's unique aiming skill has made sure that none of the shot hit the target.

"Guns don't scare me, son, for I have a flamethrower !" Century yells, raising the umbrella and pulling the trigger. A burst of flames emerge from the tip, but Stingaree manages to avoid getting hit on the chest swiftly by quickly stepping aside. "DIE ! And take your rum-favored, stingray-faced narcissim with you !" Century continues to shout relentlessly, as he adjusts the position of his umbrella to land a direct hit on Stingaree, who has also lifted up the pistol to retaliate.

Before he can open fire, the flame from the umbrella surrounds his arm, forcing Stingaree to groan in great pain as he drops the firearm. Hopping back, the self-styled pirate presses his arm onto the ground to put out the fire while drawing out his rapier to counterattack. Before he can react, Turner has already closed the distance with the help of his bike.

Elevating himself above the captain, Turner halts the flames and whacks the captain's bald head with his umbrella. "Hope this will teach you a lesson !" He yells, only to have the captain responds by drawing out the cutlass, blocking the umbrella and chopping it apart in the middle with the blade.

"Who's laughing now ?Nobody gets away with insulting the mighty Captain Stingaree !" The captain chuckles deviously, as he drags the still shocked Century down from the bike by grabbing the man by his leg. "I'm going to rip you apart, limb by limb. Then I'm going to feed you to sharks ! " Stingaree roars in rage, as he pierces Century's chest with the rapier, ending the man's rampage. "Captain Stingaree is never to be fooled ! " He screams, raising the blade for more cuts, but before he can do so, a voice from behind interrupts him.

"Big D, pay attention. Stingaree has gotten into yet another fight. " Says the Joker, as he signals the bartender about the event above. Taking a deep sigh, Darkseid emerges from the counter, mildly annoyed. "Can I at least take a good nap ? " The evil new god wonders, as he opens his eyes, unleashing the Omega Beam once again, reducing the captain and the body of Century into ashes in a millisecond. Normally, he would have made Stingaree suffer instead of sending him straight to resurrection. However, today he is not in the mood for torture. His family are coming, and they will be helping him to accomplish something major, something beyond everything Luthor and Octavius have ever attempted, something that may actually break him out of this realm.

Expert's opinions[]

Although Turner is carrying better weapons, his bombastic fighting style, poor mental health and extreme level of arrogance result in his loss. Captain Stingaree is also a joke, but he is practical and somewhat skilled in using his weapons. Therefore, in this battle between joke characters, Captain Stingaree is the winner.
