The SMAW, or Shoulder-launched Multipurpose Assault Weapon, is an American/Israeli rocket launcher. It is best used against bunkers or other defensive emplacements as well as combat vehicles such as battle tanks. It was introduced to the U.S. military in 1984. It is usable by a one-man crew, which gives it a mobility advantage over other rocket launchers that require a two-man crew for use.
