Sheva Alomar is one of the main protagonists of the video game Resident Evil 5. Alongside her partner, Chris Redfield, she is an agent of the Bioterrorism Security Assessment Alliance operating in Africa to investigate bioterrorist activities.
Growing up in West Africa, Sheva lived in a village dominated by a plant run by the Umbrella Corporation. Umbrella used the village as a testing ground for the t-Virus, a bio-weapon that could create zombies. The villagers were all mutated or silenced by Umbrella. Sheva alone survived. While living with extended family, Sheva ran away into the savannah to find her former home. She was found by a guerrilla army who took her in and raised her.
As a teenager, Sheva was contacted by an American spy who informed her that the guerrillas were dealing in bio-weapons. Disillusioned with the guerrillas, she aided the spy as a mole. Sheva was rewarded with relocation to the United States and an education. Because of her experiences, Sheva decided to join the BSAA and became a special agent. In 2009, Sheva partnered with Chris Redfield for a mission to investigate bio-weapons in the Kijuju Autonomous Zone in West Africa.
While investigating rumors about something called the Uroboros Project, Sheva and Chris were attacked by the Majini, civilians turned into parasitized zombies. Fighting through ever-growing hoards of mutants, the pair discovered that Albert Wesker, Chris's old enemy and a former Umbrella operative, was behind the incident. Wesker planned to use the Uroboros Virus to wipe out the vast majority of humans. After an intense battle on an active volcano, Sheva and Chris killed Wesker and saved the world.
