Sejuani, Fury of the North, is a playable character in the multiplayer online battle arena game League of Legends. She is the ruthless leader of the Winter's Claw, a warmongering tribe in the icy land of the Freljord.
Sejuani was born from a political marriage that ended when her mother, Kalkia, the Winter's Claw's greatest warrior, abandoned the tribe to elope. Without a warmother to lead it, the tribe's power waned. Sejuani was raised by her harsh and unloving grandmother. She spent summers with the Winter's Claw's sister tribe, the Avarosans, led by the warrior Grena. Sejuani became close friends with Grena's daughter, Ashe.
When Grena questioned Sejuani's grandmother's methods of parenting, she was outraged. She suddenly ordered the Winter's Claw to launch attacks on surrounding tribes, bent on reclaiming the glory lost with Kalkia's departure. When Kalkia learned what was happening, she returned to the Winter's Claw, reclaimed her position as warmother, and declared peace. However, this left the Winter's Claw with poor land and little recourse. Sejuani plotted to overthrow her mother.
While on a raid, Sejuani encountered a drüvask, a type of large boar, and adopted it, naming it Bristle. Bristle would serve as Sejuani's mount in the future. Sejuani challenged Kalkia to a duel, but the tribe's priests would have none of it. Kalkia died in the resulting chaos. Sejuani became the tribe's new warmother and set out to conquer the Freljord. Ashe, who dreamed of a peaceful unification of the Freljord, resolved to oppose her.
