Rise Kujikawa, known to the world by her stage name Risette, is a major character in the video game Persona 4 and its spinoffs. A popular Japanese idol taking a hiatus in her hometown, Rise joined a group of teenagers with supernatural powers on their quest to hunt down a serial killer.
Struggling with identity issues from her idol career, Rise took a hiatus to live with her grandmother in the small town of Inaba. Rise became the latest target of a serial killer in Inaba; she was kidnapped and forced into a world within television screens. Luckily, a group of friends had been chasing the killer and they entered the TV World to rescue Rise with their ability to wield Personas, manifestations of the psyche. Rise confronted the personification of her hidden inner desires - her Shadow Self - and accepted it, earning a Persona of her own. Rise joined her rescuers and helped stop the killer and the mysterious entity behind him, falling in love with her leader, Yu Narukami, in the process.
Months later, another evil entity threatened Inaba. Separated from her friends, Rise's Persona developed the power to fight alone. Having grown immensely during her struggles, Rise confidently returned to her idol career. Rise invited her friends to perform with her at her comeback concert, but discovered the influence of another entity that sought to make humanity slaves to societal expectations. Rise and her friends drove the entity away after persuading it through the power of song and dance.
