“ | I have sinned enough against the world. To teach Kender magic would ensure my damnation.
— Raistlin Majere

Born as the son of a simple logger, the future master of time and space came from humble means. Raistlin was born in a simple village along side his twin brother Caramon. At birth, Raistlin was believed to die young due to his poor health, but he managed to survive. As a young boy, he would play a contrasting role to his brother Caramon, with Raistlin being a frail master mind and Caramon being an air headed superhuman. During his teenage years, he would be sent to a mages academy, were he would learn the basics of magic.
Not long after returning home from his training, Raistlin would learn that his father was killed in a logging accident and that his mother had passed away due to grief. This deeply effected him personally, with his family being some of the few people he cared about, leaving him with only Caramon and step sister Kitiara Uth Matar. He would soon after start his career as an adventurer alongside Caramon, with the two soon falling in with a number of other powerful warriors. While all got along, the group soon disbanded and agreed to reunite in 5 years after Raistlin was forced to take a mages test. This test nearly killed Raistlin due to it riggers, though he was able to power through the events and come out alive with a number of magical boons.
He and Caramon would soon return with the group after the 5 year break. But this reunion wouldn't last, as the group very quickly would be roped into the starting of the war of the lance, with the group being issued to deal with a number of religious fanatics and their monsterous allies. Making there way there, The group would make it into their enemies lair and after a hellish battle, would come out alive on the other end with 2 dead dragons and a slain Anti-Cleric behind them behind them. The group would participate in the war of the lance, with Raistlin playing a big part in it. Raistlin would eventually ally himself with the conclave (group of black mages) and gain power over them, proving him metal by defeating the demonic death knight lord Soth. He would then learn of a conspiracy from the god of darkness Takhisis (leader of the evil side in the war of the lance) to control the forces of magic and rule with impunity.
Being one of the few who knowing this, Raistlin was able to gain access to a number of magical tomes, giving him knowledge enough to combat the evil queen. Raists friends and brother would try and dissuade him from the battle. There would be two timelines after this depending on how Raistlin went about this battle. In one timeline, Raistlin beat Takhisis in a true final fight, though the world would be left as little more then a blasted heath from the fallout. In the other timeline, Raistlin would be convinced by Takhisis in as a destructive way, also killing her but with Raistlin dying in his final fight. Raistlin in the first time line would become the new god of evil a destruction, though he would more so fall in line with the commands of the other gods. In the second, Raistlin would be remembers by his friends as a true hero and man who ended the war.

Winner: Caleb Widogast.
Expert’s Opinion[]
While Raistlin was himself a powerful spell caster, in the end his lack of physical weakness and smaller variety of abilities eventually led to Caleb taking the win. While fireball hit much harder then anything Caleb had, its limitation at close range and its nature as an AOE made it fall short when compared too Calebs lighter hitting but more reliably useful spells. Calebs usage of Haste both evened and overshadowed Raists agility advantage, and his usage of damaging cantrips gave him more reliable type of attack against Raist. And while a hit from Fireball would certainly kill Caleb, the rest of Raists Spells don't have to stopping power to drop Caleb in one hit. So in the end, While Raist could hurt Caleb, Caleb had more option to keep himself alive and also more easily kill Raistlin.
