“ | Now good Tom Thumb / Your work is done, / The Tale is at its end. / May dreams of dark embrace your heart / Night's curtain doth descend. / With great mirth I'll cut off your head; / Life from your body rend.

Nursery Rhyme is a Servant from the Fate franchise, first appearing in the video game Fate/EXTRA. She is unique among Heroic Spirits as she isn't the spirit of a human who achieved great deeds in life but rather the personification of nursery rhymes, a genre of children’s literature that is especially popular in Britain. Reflecting this, Nursery Rhyme primarily concerns itself with protecting the innocence of children.
Nursery Rhyme was created inside the Moon Cell by Alice, who wished for a friend to keep her company. When the Moon Cell Holy Grail War broke out, Alice and Nursery Rhyme did not join the war in earnest and instead used it as an opportunity to put the other Masters and Servants through ‘games’ for their entertainment. Depending on the timeline, Alice was either deleted from the Moon Cell or put to rest though Nursery Rhyme would vanish to the Throne of Heroes regardless.
During the Fourth Singularity, an incomplete version of Nursery Rhyme was summoned by the demonic fog in the form of a book. Lacking any personality of its own, it randomly attacked civilians before a party lead by Ritsuka Fujimaru gave it a physical form and send it back to the Throne again. Afterwards, she was summoned by Ritsuka to aid them in the Grand Orders and formed a close friendship with the other child Servants at Chaldea.
