Deadliest Fiction Wiki

Truth is a thing which only appears to those who have observed, considered, and made a choice.
— Margaret

Margaret is a major character in the role-playing video game Persona 4 and its spinoff titles. A resident of the mysterious Velvet Room, she guides Yu Narukami, helping him develop his powers and investigate strange murders in the rural Japanese town of Inaba.

Yu visited the Velvet Room in a dream and met Margaret, her master Igor, and her colleague Marie. Upon arriving in Inaba to live with his uncle, Yu became involved in a supernatural mystery involving murders, a world inside television screens, and the power to summon a Persona: a manifestation of one’s inner self. Under Igor and Margaret’s guidance, Yu learned to wield Personas and strengthen his abilities through bonds with others.

Alongside his friends, known as the Investigation Team, Yu searched for the truth behind the bizarre events. Margaret, intrigued by Yu’s growth, formed a bond of her own with him. Before the group faced Izanami-no-Okami, the mastermind behind the incidents, Margaret challenged them to a battle to test their resolve. After the final battle, Margaret offered a heartfelt farewell and shared a kiss with Yu before he left Inaba.

With Izanami defeated, Margaret continued watching over Yu. When Yu returned to Inaba for a reunion with his friends, the Investigation Team was drawn into a tournament orchestrated by a malevolent spirit seeking global ruin. Margaret looked after Yu as he and his friends saved the world again. She also joined them on two journeys into humanity's collective unconscious, where they encountered other groups of Persona-users.

Battle vs. Cynthia (by Laquearius)[]

TBW

Winner: Margaret

Expert's Opinion[]

Cynthia is a skilled, experienced, and tactically minded Trainer who is more than deserving of her title. However, she is poorly equipped to face an enemy like Margaret. Margaret can quickly swap between her Personas at a whim and command them non-verbally, making for quicker and more efficient moves. Many of Margaret's Personas lack weaknesses altogether, and as for the ones that don't, Cynthia's options for exploiting their weaknesses are limited. Furthermore, Margaret herself is a combatant, which makes for a confusing and aggressive fighting style that can counter Cynthia's wait-and-see approach. Finally, Margaret's tendency to end lengthy battles with Oberon's Megidolaon assures that the defensive nature of some of Cynthia's Pokémon will do her no good.
