Margaret is major character in the video games Persona 4 and its spinoffs. As a resident of the mysterious and extradimensional Velvet Room, Margaret guides the protagonist, Yu Narukami, in developing his abilities and discovering the truth behind a series of mysterious murders in his small town.
Yu first traveled to the Velvet Room in a dream and met Margaret, her master Igor, and her companion Marie. After arriving at the small town of Inaba to live with his uncle, Yu became entangled in a mystery involving two murders, another world within television screens, and the power to summon a personification of one's personality called a "Persona." Igor and Margaret instruct Yu in summoning and fusing Personas and strengthening his powers through forming bonds with people.
As Yu and his new friends fought to discover the truth, Margaret took a greater interest in Yu and formed a bond with him as well. Margaret challenged Yu and his friends to a battle to test their strength before confronting Izanami-no-Okami, the mastermind behind the strange events, and even gave Yu a kiss before he left Inaba after the conclusion of the incident.
Months after Izanami's defeat, Margaret continued to watch over Yu as he returned to Inaba and was forced in a strange tournament along with his friends which was organized by a malevolent entity bent on global destruction. She also accompanied the group during two adventures into the collective unconsciousness of humanity, during which they encountered two other groups of Persona-users.
Battle vs. Cynthia (by Laquearius)[]
TBW
Winner: Margaret
Expert's Opinion[]
Cynthia is a skilled, experienced, and tactically minded Trainer who is more than deserving of her title. However, she is poorly equipped to face an enemy like Margaret. Margaret can quickly swap between her Personas at a whim and command them non-verbally, making for quicker and more efficient moves. Many of Margaret's Personas lack weaknesses altogether, and as for the ones that don't, Cynthia's options for exploiting their weaknesses are limited. Furthermore, Margaret herself is a combatant, which makes for a confusing and aggressive fighting style that can counter Cynthia's wait-and-see approach. Finally, Margaret's tendency to end lengthy battles with Oberon's Megidolaon assures that the defensive nature of some of Cynthia's Pokémon will do her no good.
