Hey, just remember that I am a true Japanese woman, kind and graceful!
— Mai Shiranui

Mai Shiranui is a playable character in the fighting game series Fatal Fury and The King of Fighters. She is a seductive kunuochi. When she was a kid, her grandfather, Hanzo, taught her the secrets of ninjutsu. She eventually learned the rest of the art from a man named Jubei Yamanada. While this was happening, she fell in love with another disciple named Andy Bogard. In one of the first King of Fighters tournaments, she endlessly pestered her boyfriend about creating a team with her until he just got so sick of her, that he just up and left, joining another team. Despite this, she formed a all-women team made up of her, Yuri, and King. As the years passed by and her friends changed, she still focused on encouraging them and proving Andy wrong. In the next tournament, Mai was kindly asked by a official to step out. She refused and joined the women's team once again and has been fighting ever since.

Battle vs. Kitana (Alternate) (by MrPacheco101)[]

No battle written.

Expert's Opinion[]

Kitana is immensely more experience and better trained than Mai. However, Kitana's moveset is much more limited in comparison to Mai's, being mostly focused on anti-air and close-range attacks. Furthermore, Mai's pyrokinesis makes for a more directly lethal magical ability than Kitana's aerokinesis. Mai's overall greater versatility and power would give her the win over the more seasoned Kitana.
