Jolyne Cujoh is the estranged daughter of Jotaro Kujo. Originally, she was oblivious about her dad's past and perceived herself as a normal if not rebellious teenager. This is due to Jotaro being an absentee father for most of Jolyne's life - even when she was sick, her father never came to visit. This came to a head when at age 14, she was falsely accused of a crime and sent to juvenile detention - Jotaro sadly never came to bail her out, leaving her mother to do all the legwork. After that, the parents divorced and Jolyne spent her later teen years with a motorcycle/carjacking gang. At age 19, she started to clean up her act and began dating a prep student. This would cause her to get into even more trouble when she was made the scapegoat of a DUI murder that her boyfriend committed. For this she was sent to Green Dolphin Street Prison.
It is here where she awakens her Stand of string-based powers called Stone Free. Using this Stand, she ends up gaining the respect of the other prisoners (some of whom were Stand users themselves) but needed to find a way to get out of the prison. Her escape attempt is interrupted by the arrival of her father... who soon tells her that his arrival was set up as part of a trap by a disciple of DIO named Enrico Pucci. The visit then soon is interrupted by two other Stand users - one of them, Whitesnake, successfully stealing a memory disc containing Jotaro's soul and Stand. Jolyne is able to retrieve this back with her cellmates but this ends up landing her in deeper trouble with the prison, with her being placed in maximum security.
With the disc in her possession, she is targetted fiercely by Pucci, who sends more Stand users to assassinate her. Those assassins would fail due to Jolyne's ingenuity and her cellmates' help, but Pucci escapes. Jolyne and her friends end up breaking out of the prison for good in pursuit of Pucci into Florida. Along the way, she ends up battling more of DIO's disciples before reaching Pucci at Cape Canaveral, where Pucci causes the Earth's gravity to shift onto its side and causing all sorts of problems for the group.
Jotaro soon arrives to help the group battle Pucci and despite a valiant effort, Pucci ends up unlocking his Stand's ultimate power - using it to kill Jotaro and Jolyne.
