A Miraluka, more than likely taken as a child to be trained as a Jedi, Jerec would be the direct apprentice of Jedi scholar Jocasta Nu. Taking after his master, Jerec would become an adept scholar, becoming one of the orders most premiere Jedi Archaeologists. Disinterested in war, Jerec would not participate in the Clone Wars, instead leaving known Republic Space in order to look for ancient Sith and Jedi artifacts. This would directly save his life, saving him from the great Jedi Purge.
When Jerec eventually returned to Republic Space, he would be abducted by members of the Sith Inquisitorius and given the chance to join them. Jerec chose the join, starting him down the road to darkness. Over the next two decades, Jerec would prove himself a useful member of the organization, capturing and training his own cadre of dark Jedi Followers, all while continuing his old hobby of seeking out lost Jedi and Sith relics and knowledge.
By 5 ABY, Jerec would set his sights on the long lost Valley of the Jedi on Ruusan, the final burial site of the victims of the Thought Bomb, a force ritual which had been detonated by Darth Bane a millennia earlier. wanting to seek out its powers and take them for himself in the newly formed power vacuum left the dead emperor. First by hunting down Jedi Master Qu Rahn, and later by ransacking the home of the late Morgan Katarn, dud Jerec discover the Valleys location. However, he would be hounded in his pursuit by Kyle Katarn, Morgan's son and a growing Force Adept.
Guided by the force spirit of Rahn, Kyle would track him down, killing each of Jerecs Dark Jedi followers before finally confronting him in the bowels of the Valley. Despite the powers Jerec had obtained from the valley, he would still be cut down by Kyle, who would finally release the trapped Jedi and Sith spirits from the site.
