The Heinkel He 111 a German bomber designed by Siegfried and Walter Günter at Heinkel Flugzeugwerke in 1934. Because of Germany wasn't allowed to have bombers due to the restrictions placed on them during the First World War, the He 111 masqueraded as a civil airliner.

In the Second World War, the bomber became the best-recognized German bomber due to its green nose and proved to be capable of sustaining heavy damage while staying airborne. Throughout the war it was used in a variety of roles, including medium bomber, strategic bomber, torpedo bomber, and transport.

The Heinkel He 111 was continuously modified and upgraded but became obsolete at the later parts of the war. The Bomber B project, which was supposed to replace the Heinkel He 111, wasn't finished, forcing the Luftwaffe to continue using the model. Manufacture of the He 111 was eventually halted as the German bomber force became defunct, relegating the remaining models to transport roles.
