— Paris to Hector

Hector is a figure from Greek mythology who features prominently in accounts of the Trojan War. A Trojan prince, Hector is the greatest warrior of Troy and commands respect even from his enemies.
Hector's younger brother, Paris, abducted Helen, the queen of Sparta, and brought her to Troy. As many Greek noblemen had sworn an oath to protect Helen, the combined armies of Greece marched on Troy. Although he disapproved of Paris's actions, Hector assumed the role of supreme commander and led Troy's defense. After nine grueling years of war, neither side was close to victory.
Things took a turn when Achilles, the mightiest of the Greek warriors, withdrew from battle due to a falling out with the Greek supreme commander, Agamemnon. The absence of Achilles caused the Greek forces to rapidly lose ground and Hector nearly succeeded in driving them from the shores of Troy. It was then that Achilles appeared to return to the fray. Aided by the god Apollo, Hector slew the warrior, only to discover that he was actually Patroclus, Achilles's close companion, wearing Achilles's armor.
Enraged by Patroclus's death, Achilles returned to the battlefield and fought through the Trojan lines in relentless pursuit of Hector. Hector awaited the inevitable confrontation at Troy's gates. However, when he gazed upon the wrathful Greek warrior, he was overcome by fear and fled. The goddess Athena, who favored Achilles, deceived Hector into turning back. In the ensuing duel, Achilles mortally wounded Hector by thrusting a spear into his neck.

Battle vs. Xerxes I (by Deathblade 100)[]
Asia Minor, 1300 BC
On a winding dirt road, Hector and two of his Trojan champions are mounted on a chariot to have a rendezvous with some new allies; the Persians. As they wait, an arrow sprouts into the ground next to them. Xerxes is mounted on a chariot with two of his Immortals. One of the Immortals nocks an arrow to his bow and fires, missing Hector narrowly.
Hector orders one of his men to nock an arrow and fire back, which the Trojan does almost immediately. The arrow hits Xerxes’ chariot driver in the neck, causing the chariot to swerve uncontrollably off course. Hector’s charioteer urges the chariot forward just as thrust of a Persian spear impales a Trojan soldier. Hector grabs a javelin and hurls it into Persian's leg, severing the nerve. As the Persian grits his teeth in pain, a slash from a Trojan's Kopis severs the carotid arteries in his neck.
Xerxes grabs an Acinaces and a Sagaris from his dead charioteer and tries to make a last ditch stand only for Hector's remaining soldier to fire an arrow into his chest. As the Persian king grasped at the shaft feebly, Hector walked up with a Labrys axe and swung it down towards the Persian's neck.
Hector raised his Labrys and yelled "For Troy!" in victory, before signalling his driver to take him back to Troy.
