The hoplite infantry from the informal Dark Age of ancient Greece were known as the Geometric Warriors. As a unit, they would have filled in the units as infantry units, fighting on a smaller scale of war then any other unit during any other era of Greek history . The Geometrics were among the first formal warrior units of ancient Greece, having lived in the then new era of Greek city state conflict, with the fall of the Mycenaean empire leading to great division among the greeks. Little else is known about these warriors, as much of their record is based on art, sculptures and writings from other cultures, as the Greeks had lost any real written langauge during the Geometric period.
