“ | By now, I expected that the combined simulation training time is in excess of all of the combatant hours in the history of Human conflict. So, I guess you could say that we were pretty confident the thing would work.

The General Purpose Infantry Unit (G.P.U.I, G.I.U, G.I), informally known as the Grunt or Bipedal Robot, is a humanoid combat robot intended for security and battlefield deployment. It was brought to market in its first revision by the Coalescence Corporation in 2040. Grunts are mass-produced robotic infantry in wide use by most major military forces and even by smaller factions, private corporations, and terrorist groups.
Although they fight with standard infantry weaponry, Grunts behave significantly differently from human soldiers, steadily walking forward into combat instead of attempting to utilize cover due to being armored with self-healing ceramic composite.
Grunts do possess a degree of self-preservation programming and can dodge sideways several feet in an attempt to evade gunfire. They are typically equipped with assault rifles, shotguns, or submachine guns, and are generally not assigned sniper rifles or explosive weaponry. They also cannot utilize grenades.
Grunts are more durable than human troops due to their armored plating and mechanical nature, and are capable of surviving several bullet hits from most automatic weapons, although they can still be brought down with one or two high-caliber rounds or shotgun blasts. Headshots are also not necessarily lethal to Grunts, who can fight on without a head. They are also significantly stronger than a human being, capable of easily ripping a human's limbs off their bodies or lifting a human by the throat off the ground using only one arm.
Battle vs. Cyclops (Girls' Frontline) (by EDMUND456)[]
The KCCO has recived reports of a terrorist cell that is operating within the bounds of the Neo-Soviet Union. In response, they send a strike team of 4 Cyclopses into a warehouse where the terrorists have been last seen. The team stands by the warehouse door, waiting to breach. Inside, 4 General Purpose Infantry Units have been activated. The Grunts ready their weapons and prepare to face the threat outside. The door blows open and a barrage of bullets fly in. The Grunts dodge to the side while returning fire. The squad of Cyclops rushes in and takes cover behind some crates. Just then, a Grunts walks towards the squad while firing it's ICR-1. One of the Cyclops rises up from it's cover and shoots it's GP-25 grenade launcher at the Grunt, killing it instantly.
Another Grunt fires it's HVK-30 at the Cyclops but only manages to graze it's shoulder before it ducks down. Just then, two of the Cyclops run out from behind their crates and start firing at the Grunts as they run, creating a diversion. As the Grunts fire back, they fail to realize the Cyclopses who've stayed behind. A Cyclops sneaks up on a Grunt and shoots it in the back with it's shotgun repeatedly.
The two remaining Grunts immediately turn around and attack the lone Cyclops. One of them blows it's head off with it's Haymaker 12.
This would be the last mistake of the Grunts as the grenadier Cyclops has already reloaded and it's comrade whom also has a GP-25 aim down their sights at the Grunts. Just like that, the Grunts are destroyed in a large explosion.
Winner: Cyclops
Expert's Opinion[]
While the Grunts were more sturdy, the Cyclops had overwhelming firepower and even then, they had utilized squad tactics as opposed to the Grunts who walked straight into battle and had only dodged sideways.
