I would turn on God himself for Mother Russia.
— Egor Korshunov

Egor Korshunov is the main antagonist of the film Air Force One. Korshunov was a Kazak ultranationalist who was fiercely loyal to former communist dictator Ivan Radek. When Radek was taken prisoner for his crimes, Korshunov captured Air Force One and took American President James Marshall and his entourage hostage to force the release of Radek from prison.

Using his credentials as a former radio host, Kroshunov and his men boarded Air Force One. After takeoff, Kroshunov was given access to the weapons cabinet by corrupt Secret Service Agent Gibbs, took control of the plane, and set a course for Kazakstan. Unbeknownst to him, Marshall hid in the cargo hold and killed some of his men. Assuming Marshall to be a random Secret Service agent, Kroshunov called Vice President Kathryn Bennett and threatened to kill a hostage every half-hour that Radek was not released.

Marshall and his military advisors managed to trick Kroshunov by lowering to a lower altitude for a mid-air refueling, buying time for the hostages to parachute safely off the plane. The plan worked and, after disposing some more of Kroshunov's men, Marshall escorted a couple of hostages off the plane. Kroshunov discovered the deception, however, and forced Air Force One to leave, causing the fuel to ignite, destroying the tanker and preventing Marshall, Chief of Staff Lloyd Shepherd, Major Caldwell, and Gibbs from escaping.

Now with the President finally under his control, Korshunov forced Russian President Petrov to release Radek. Just as Korshunov and the remaining loyalists were celebrating their success, Marshall broke free and used the element of surprise to kill them.
