Dio Brando, later known as simply DIO, was born the son of Dario Brando, an abusive alcoholic whom Dio despised for his poor treatment of both him and his mother. He would later be adopted by George Joestar, a wealthy nobleman whose life Dario had supposedly saved (when in actuality he was just attempting to rob what he believed to be a dead man's corpse), after his father's death. It was heard that he met Jonathan Joestar and mercilessly taunted and abused him at every opportunity in order to further his own agenda of becoming wealthy and powerful. This abuse abruptly ended after Jonathan finally stood up to Dio after he forced himself onto his girlfriend Erina.
Seven years down the line Dio attempted to poison his adopted father in order to gain the Joestar estate for himself, planning to kill Jonathan with a mysterious stone mask which he had been researching. Testing the mask on a random man he found that rather than killing him it instead turned him into a vampire who almost killed him, but he was saved by the sun rising and turning the man to dust. On his return to the Joestar mansion, he was confronted by Jonathan who had found out about his plot and had alerted the police who were ready and waiting to arrest him.
Cornered and left with nothing to lose Dio wore and activated the stone mask using the blood of his adopted father, who jumped in to save Jonathan when Dio attempted to stab him. He was gunned down by the policemen but he survived due to his vampire powers and after fighting with Jonathan in the burning remains of the mansion he was impaled and presumably killed by fire. He survived, however, and went on to become a major enemy for Jonathan and his allies.
Dio would ultimately be defeated for good by Jotaro Kujo, Jonathan's great-great-grandson. Though his legacy lingered through the sons he fathered and the few underlings who remained loyal after his death.

No battle was written.
Winner: Dio Brando
When it came down to it what really helped Dio to snatch victory here was that he was able to dish out and take more damage than Dusk could due to his greater strength and high regeneration ability. Dusk's unwavering belief in the Vampire Code also prevented him from killing Dio which made it harder for him to actually end the battle as Dio could power through all non-lethal damage.
Battle vs. Diavolo (by Battlefan237)
An abandoned basement, Rome
Dio Brando rested in silence, waiting for the descendant of the night. It had been a few weeks since he encountered a man named Funny Valentine who claimed himself to be the president of United States and sent him back into his original dimension by using his stand.
"Mr.Brando. Considering we're both trapped in this dimension of death, and share the enemy from the same breed.Let's make a deal. My stand can reach any other dimensions except my own, even with the help of theses corpse parts. So I will send you and your followers back to your dimension, but you must help he collect those arrows we talked about before . After you get all those arrows, I'll reach Pucci to collect them, after which I'll combine them with my corpse part, so that you and your followers can go to your heaven with the help of it , while I'll be getting back to my dimension and picking up the first napkin by using the arrow to enhance my D4C. However, be careful, because when one dies, he'll go to the dimension where we are at present, but when one dies twice, he'll go to another paradox which can't be reached by my D4C. "
"Fine, Mr.Valentine. " DIO agreed to make the deal, while plotting to kill Valentine after the combination.
"My lord, my sources have figured out the location of all the missing arrows. Our first port of call will be Sardinia, where an arrow is being kept by local Mafia named Passione. " Darby told him in confidence,"But my lord, please take cautious because rumor has it that the Passione Mafia consists of many powerful stand users, and the identity of its boss has never been revealed. "
And he did watch out for those Stand users, but he still lost two of his most loyal and helpful agents last night . While they were approaching the house where the arrow had been supposed to be kept, two stand users attacked them in a helicopter. The first one was pretty easy, Enya simply stunned him in the back and forced him to crash into a statue as he swam across the road which he had turned into marshes. However, the second one was not that weak, and had been using his stand without being noticed. Shortly after Enya killed the swimming weirdo, she found her skin and fleshes rotting away at a fast pace, killing her in seconds.
All the other living beings were all affected by the molds and killed in instant, with the exception of Ice and himself, whose vampire skins slowed down the speed of the germs. Ice jumped up to high ground , where mthe germs effect was defected for some unknown reasons and reached straight for the helicopter , biting the head of that laughing maniac off with his cream.
As soon as that man was killed, the molds stopped, but the true battle began. Fluttered by the molds and the sinking street, people had already started to run away at random directions. However, DIO sensed something out of ordinary : Although most people were trying to escape from the scene, one particular teenager with red hair was running towards the way led to the destroyed helicopter.
"Get him, Ice." Ordered DIO .
What he didn't foresee was that the teenager was the people they'd been seeking for, the boss of the Passione Mafia, and the ex-owner of the house where the arrow was supposed to be kept.
Ice rushed to the scene immediately, only to find the teenager in a rather weird state : He was holding a frog, rubbing it on his cheek and whispering towards its stomach as if the frog had been a cell phone.
"Ringringringringringring.... Boss, is that you ? Those intruders have defeated Cioccolata and Secco, what should I do now ?" Went the teenager as Ice lifted him up and tossed him to the ground.
"Arrrrr !" Screamed the teenager in fear, " Please, don't kill me ! I'm just a by-passer..."
"Heh," Mocked Ice, "That is a crappy excuse. Now before you are fed into my cream dimension, answer my question : What is your relation with these two on the helicopter, and what's your business around here ?"
"I...I..Ringring-a-ling-a-ling....Boss, I'm captured, please tell me what should I do, please !!" The teenager picked up a bar of brick and started whispering once again.
"Damn, what's the hell is wrong with this kid ? DIO Sama, you might come here and check--"
Before Ice could finish his line, the teenager tossed the brick towards his head, resulting in a short-term dizziness before Ice lifted him up and punched him in the stomach. For unspecified reasons, the teen managed to dodge the punch as if he had predicted it. "Damn, you stupid scum..." Ice was about to punched the teen in the head when he found the teen's face became twisted.
"No matter who you are and what your goals have been , you people have been trying to investigate me, invetigate my past in the last few weeks. " The boy's face twisted and reformed into a grown man's, as he took off his shirt, revealing a muscular body. Before Ice could react, a red stand bumped out and punched him in the stomach , causing him to fall back.
"Every one who witnessed my true form and my King Crimsons have been wiped from this planet. " Smirked Diavolo as he stood up. "And you'll also be wiped out very soon !" Shouted DIO, who took out a dozen of knives from his pocket and threw them towards Diavolo.
"King Crimson. Delete the time." Whispered Diavolo.
Too Dio's astonishment, none of the knives hit the supposed target. "Your skill is impressive, but it's no match for my king Crim---!" Ice grabbed the man from the back . "I'll finish him, my lord !" Ice turned into his cream form. "Sadly, I've predicted this ." Grinned Diavolo as he once against activated his stand.
Vanilla Ice found his cream biting into the ground below. Confused, he looked up to see King Crimson wielding a large barrel of gasoline taken from the truck beside. The Stand smashed the gasoline barrel towards cream, crashing it backwards into a burning van, leading to a huge explosion. The psychopath roared , unleashing his excruciating pain as the explosion teared him into tiny pieces, dysfunctioning his brain eternally, burning his head into ashes.
"Now it's your turn--let me see what' you gonna do.....I see, attempting to punch me through the stomach. "
DIO, who had already set off the string of punches, found himself punching the fences behind Diavolo. "Impossible, how did you manage to do that ?"
"My stand King Crimson can predict what's coming. "
"Intriguing ability." DIO laughed, as he used the world to freeze the time.
Diavolo's prediction footage showed him the devastating scene in which he was punched repeatedly by the world, without making a single move to avoid.
"Wait , what the--?" Diavolo found his body frozen, as he desperately attempted to move, DIO thrust towards him, followed by that long string of 'mudamudamudamudamuda !'.
When time went on once again, DIO discarded Diavolo's distorted corpse into a flame, and walked into the house, where he found no trace of arrow. Little did he know that the arrow was carried by the exact man he just tossed into the flames.
"I need to collect more information before phasing in my next step." Thought DIO as he reviewed his failed operation last night, " Hope my servants in Japan are carrying on well."
Kira Household, Morioh
"Another peaceful day in my beatutiful town. " Thought Yoshikage Kira as he began to chew on his sandwich, facing the yard, with his newly-gained girlfriend in hand.
The pair of arrows were neatly kept in a duffle bag placed at a unremarkable corner in his living room.
"Beware, my son !" Suddenly shouted his father, making Kira turn back, only to see a mummy figure with a sword staring at him inside the mirror.
"What's the hell ?" Kira called out his Killer Queen as the door was blasted open by another man holding a ridiculously large pistol .
"Mr. Kira, hand me your arrows, or else me and lord J.Geil gonna hurt you really bad !" Mocked Hol Horse, signaturing the start of another round of blood shed.
Both warriors are good with their stands, but DIO and his servant's superior physicality and endurance granted them this victory. Diavolo, though being a tricky and confusing fighter, is still a human, making him no match for a hundred-year-old vampire.

Battle vs. Tex Hex (by Jackythejack)
Small English Town, 10 P.M.
An interesting sight was walking down a small, dirt path leading to an old and sparsely populated English village. This interesting sight was a man with long white hair and skin that was as purple as a plum. his outfit was green and black, and he looked like one of those American wild west settlers. ...he also looked absolutely pissed off, but that was another story.
The wanderer had his hands in his pockets as he continued on. This wanderer, of course, was none other than Tex Hex, one of the most vicious outlaws on New Texas. Only...he wasn't on New Texas now. He was on some backwater, middle of nowhere road somewhere in the past, and he wasn't happy about it. "Go get the mask, Tex," he said in a mocking tone as he kicked a few rocks. "Don't you fail me this time, Tex. Oh, if I ever get a chance I'll show that Stampede what fer."
He was slowly approaching the English village, and took a moment to take in his surroundings. The same boring countryside he's been looking at for half an hour now. The occasional hill, a small pile of rocks and a fallen over tree due to what was likely a recent storm. Nothing interesting. The same thing as always. "What even makes him think that mask is in this godforsaken country anyhow? It could be anywhere!"
"You're looking for a mask?" A voice with an unmistakable British accent spoke, coming from just a little further down the path. Tex looked forward and noticed that someone was now standing in the middle of his path. A blonde kid, and judging by the clothes he was wearing he was one of those no good city slickers. He already hated the guy.
"What's it to you?" He asked in a harsh tone as he continued moving. "And get outta my way! Can't you see someone's walking?"
"Well, it just so happens that I have a mask right here." The man suddenly had a mask in his hand, exactly the one that Tex was looking for. It was pure white, and seemingly reflected the light of the moon. He chuckled. "Is this the mask you are looking for?"
Tex grinned maliciously. "Yeah, that's what I'm looking for. Now hand it over, city boy, so I can get outta here." He walked closer to the blonde, now with his hand outstretched.
"It's rude to be so demanding to strangers, don't you think?" He put the mask away somewhere...presumably wherever he pulled it from, and looked Tex over, seeing more and more of him as he walked closer. He made a face. "You're an ugly one, aren't you?"
"Ugly? Boy, do you know who you're talking to?" He drew his Hex Maker and spun it around on his finger before aiming it directly at the Blonde's head. "Let me say this loud and clear, just to get it through that thick city slickin' skull of yers. The name's Tex Hex, and I'm one of the most dangerous outlaws in New Texas. What I want, I get, and I want that mask, and you're gonna give it to me."
"Well, as long as we're doing introductions." The blonde was not scared in the slightest as he grinned down the barrel of the gun. HIs cocky attitude made Hex want to pull the trigger right then and there. "I am Dio Brando, and I have transcended you puny humans and your earthly weapons. I have become something much more than you could ever comprehend. I am a god. You will be fine example of what happens when you make demands to a god."
Suddenly, Dio's eyes shot out highly pressurized jets of water, and Tex could barely react in time. He morphed into smoke, dispersing into the wind and reforming several feet away, gun still aimed at Dio, who had a look of shock on his face.
"Impossible! What are you? Some sort of zombie?" How could that be possible? Zombies didn't have that much power...
"Zombie? I guess that's a way to put it. I am a dead man walkin', after all." He let out a cackle before aiming his blaster down at one of Dio's knees and pulling the trigger. His kneecap was blown out, sending blood and bits of muscles down on the old dirt road. Dio fell down onto his knee and cried out in pain. Real, genuine pain. That was no ordinary gun...
"Now, I'm going to give you one last change, 'cause I feel generous." He pointed the gun at Dio's head once more and kept it there. "Give. Me. The mask."
What he didn't notice, however, was that Dio's leg had already regenerated, muscle tissue growing back to replace the holes in his leg, and his skin covering the grievous wound. Once his leg began to work again, he pounced forward, hissing like some sort of snake as he reached out to grab Tex Hex. Once more, the outlaw disappeared in a puff of smoke and reappeared several feet away.
"You damn city slicker!" He shouted as Dio took this as an opportunity to head into the English town. Was this a retreat? Of course not. Dio never retreats. This was just strategically leading the opponent into a trap...of course.
Tex Hex rushed after Dio, heading into the heart of the village and for anywhere the blonde could have went. The boy was fast, he'd give him that, but that wouldn't keep him safe forever. He glanced at his environment, before noticing movement from the corner of his eye. He spun around and aimed his pistol at the moving figure, only to realize...it wasn't Dio, but it also sure wasn't human.
It was a slobbering corpse with what seemed to be foam forming at the mouth. Horrible, discolored skin and it's eyes bloodshot. It had claws on its hands and looked to be in terrible shape. Tex Hex made a face and looked around, and noticed more of these figures coming out from behind every corner. He started to get the picture.
"These your minions, boy? Well two can play at that game!" He loaded special ammo into his Hex Maker and shot six blasts at the ground. From the dirt arose several flaming pythons, hissing and smoking as they glanced at the zombies approaching Hex, at least five in total, but Hex was sure there was going to be more. He'd need more power than this.
"Get to it," he said as the pythons charged towards the zombies, beginning to coil around them and bite into them. The smell of burning flesh would begin to fill the air as Tex looked at the ammo in his Hex Maker. Unfortunately, he didn't have a lot of shots on him. He didn't expect a brawl. He'd have to make every shot count if he wanted to get rid of this blondie. He was about to turn around towards the entrance of the village when he heard a noise from behind him. Quiet at first, but then it suddenly increased in volume.
Tex turned around and saw Dio pouncing towards him. Tex's eyes lit up and two beams of electricity shot out of his eyes, slamming into Dio's chest and launching him back into the wall of a nearby building. He went through the building entirely and it partially collapsed on top of him. Hex cackled.
"And to think, you talk so big and tough, then you try to use a buncha walkin' corpses as a distraction! You city boys crack me up. Now stay there while I go get somethin'." Tex disappeared in a puff of smoke once more, just as Dio freed himself from all the rubble, breathing heavily. He regenerated from those wounds, but he was starting to realize this fight was more serious than he anticipated.
"What even is he," he muttered under his breath before heading off into the village. He needed to get this entire village to serve his undead army, just to give him that extra boost in combat, though he didn't want to admit to such a thing. He wanted to believe a single hit could take care of this purple man, and odds are he was right, but getting that hit in was proving to be more than difficult.
Several minutes passed with no sign of Hex, and by then Dio had already hunted down and zombified everyone in the vicinity, and took care of those pesky snakes, but he was concerned that there was no sign of Hex. He glanced at his environment, trying to find where he went. He wouldn't have to look around for too much longer, though, as suddenly Hex had appeared on a rooftop of one of the nearby buildings, smiling down at Dio. "I thought I told you to stay put?"
Dio didn't have time for these games. He immediately shot his highly pressurized jets towards Tex, and they rocketed towards the outlaw. Unlike last time, they were close enough to where Hex couldn't react nearly as well. He attempted to move out of the way which, while it did prevent a direct attack from Dio, didn't save his arm as a giant gash suddenly appeared in it. He grabbed it and cried out in pain.
"You no good city rat! That was my shootin' arm!" He let out a harsh growl before letting out a loud whistle. "Alright then boys, time to get goin'!"
Dio, at first, did not understand what he meant. ...then the ground shook. He looked around and noticed that, walking down the path towards him and his army of undead were two giant rock monsters and a large snake, at least twice the size of the nearby buildings. For a moment, Dio was speechless. How on earth could someone create such beasts in such a short amount of time. Of course, this didn't stop him from continuing the fight.
Almost as if staged, clouds suddenly blocked the moon, and plunged everyone there into further darkness. Dio, being a vampire, had an easier time seeing in the darkness, so he was more easily able to move around and rocket towards the minions that Hex had sent his way. However, they proved to be tough all the same. The rock monsters continuously hit him and his army of monsters back, and the snake was wreaking havoc not only on them but the village surroundings them. Zombies were being swatted into buildings by giant snake tails, and the rock monsters were picking up pieces of debris to chuck them at the zombies. It was complete chaos.
And Dio knew that his forces wouldn't last long.
In one last effort, he turned to the rooftop that Tex stood at. There was suddenly a smoke cloud surrounding the rooftop, likely as a way for Tex to hide from Dio. Unfortunately for him, Dio could still see the faint outline of his figure from within the smoke. If he could kill Hex, he wins. Dio had to win. Dio always wins.
Bringing all his strength into one powerful jump, Dio pounced onto the rooftops and towards Hex's figure, letting out a screech that pierced the night. He went through the smoke fog, towards Hex himself and thrusted his hand forward, aiming for the chest.
Dio's hand barely met resistance. It went through Hex's chest like a hot knife through butter. For a moment, everything was silent. Dio took several deep breaths and smiled to himself. He did it. He won. For a moment, he was filled with a feeling of triumph, before he realized something.
...this didn't feel like flesh. It felt like...
Suddenly, the smoke disappeared, and Dio could see exactly what he had attacked. It was...a statue! A stone statue, the exact shape of Hex himself. Dio's eyes widened and he backed away from the statue. "Impossible!"
Suddenly, the sound of a blaster went off, and it went right through Dio's chest. His body tensed up and he fell to his knees once more, as several moer shots entered his chest, past through, and went right through the rooftop underneath him. Holes were present where his heart, lungs and stomach should be, and blood splattered the ground in front of him.
"I'll give you credit, you're better than any city slicker I've come across." Hex's voice came from behind him. A voice that filled him with anger and hatred. That damn outlaw. "Doesn't mean yer any good though."
Hex let out a cackle, and this was enough motivation for Dio to slowly stand up to his knees as the holes in his chest and stomach began reforming, even growing a new heart. Within a few seconds, he was back to normal, as if nothing ever happened.
"What are you, some kind of cockroach? You just keep comin' back!" Hex gestured his hand towards Dio and he was suddenly lifted into the air. Dio was powerless to stop the resulting slam into the rooftop that he was receiving. Over and over again, like an overly violent child playing with his toys, Hex slammed him into the ground mercilessly. However, it didn't do much to Dio. Blunt damage never bothered him much.
What did bother him was when Tex tossed him off the rooftop and he slammed into a pile of rubble. He groaned, but quickly got back up. He felt woozy, and shook his head. "You can't...defeat me. I am DIo! I am going to be a god of this world!"
"You ain't no god," Hex said as he hopped down from the rooftop. "Yer a pest! I shoot ya, I throw you around, I beat you 'till yer black and blue and you still keep comin' back!"
"You will never kill me." Dio spoke with as much malice and hatred as he could muster. "I will win."
"Oh, don't say that just yet. I still got one more trick up my sleeve." Tex grinned as his body dissipated into smoke before swirling around where he once was. Seconds later, where Tex stood there was simply a giant, flaming skull, with fire in its eye sockets.
One more trick? That phrase ran through Dio's mind. Hex had no more tricks left. All he had to do was prove this little form of his meant nothing, and he's the guaranteed winner. That's it. He will win. He has to! He's gone so far. All he had to do was squash this insignificant insect and he can continue with his plans.
He ran forward, just as the skull was approaching him, letting out a sickening screech. "WRYYYYYYYY"
Dio's charge was brave, but foolish and arrogant. The skull was quickly on top of him and grabbed the vampire in his mouth. Dio squirmed like a rat caught in a mousetrap, and tried to use his flash freeze technique to make the skull stop, but the fire proved to be too hot. The skull them tossed him up in the air, where he flailed around for a moment as he fell back down. The skull bit off the lower half of his body, cleaving him in two. His lower half was incinerated the moment it entered the skull and fell into a pile of ash on the ground.
Before Dio's top half could even hit the ground, the skull chomped down on that too, and DIo's entire person was quickly incinerated. Nothing remained of the vampire except a pile of ashes, and resting atop those ashes was a stone mask.
Hex reverted to his human form and grinned as he picked the mask out from the ash pile, wiping off any remains of Dio that had gotten on the mask. He then kicked the ash pile, causing it to spread out and be carried on the winds. Hex's cackle could be heard echoing out in the night as his opponent, finally, was dead.
The expert's believed that, while Dio was a capable opponent, Hex's many years of experience and versatility would be Dio's undoing in the end. Hex's teleportation and the ability to turn into smoke meant he could avoid most of Dio's attacks, and, as experts pointed out, some of his abilities were simply Dio's, but better. Overall, it was a clear win for Tex. To see the original battle, weapons, and votes, click here.
