Diarmuid Ua Duibhne is a Servant from the Fate franchise, first appearing in the light novel Fate/Zero. As a chivalrous Servant, Diarmuid holds his code of honour close to his chest and is very loyal to his Master. Due to being blessed with a magic love spot that could make any woman fall in love with him, he is also known as Diarmuid of the Love Spot. He is based on the warrior from Irish mythology of the same name.
In life, Diarmuid was a knight of the Fianna and a loyal subject of Fionn mac Cumhaill. His life took a tragic turn when Fionn’s bride, Gráinne, gazed on his love spot and fell in love with him. During the marriage ceremony, Gráinne laid a curse on Diarmuid, forcing him to run away with her. The honour-bound Diarmuid could not reject Gráinne's confession but did not lay a finger on her out of loyalty to Fionn. This didn’t stop Fionn and his men from pursuing Diarmuid, though he was forced to recognize their union after too much blood had been shed.
Diarmuid once again became a knight of the Fianna, though Fionn's resentment lingered. While fighting a demonic boar with Fionn, Diarmuid was fatally injured. Although Fionn could have healed him, he choose to stall the process out of spite, leading Diarmuid to die from his wounds.
Having accomplished great deeds in life, Diarmuid's essence ascended to the Throne of Heroes and became a Heroic Spirit. He was summoned during the Fourth Fuyuki Holy Grail War by Kayneth Archibald and Ritsuka Fujimaru to aid them in the Grand Orders.
