Creating a Battle
Battles on the Deadliest Fiction wiki are open to be created by any user. However battles must adhere to the Battle Policy. Battles must also be written in blog format to allow user to vote on the outcome and to prevent the wiki from being cluttered with all the battles as pages. The outcome of the battle is decided by the voters.
How to create a Battle/blog[]Step 1: Create the blog[]The first step is to create the blog that will feature the battle To do so, simply go to your user profile by clicking your user name in the top right hand corner of the screen
Step 2: Choose a name[]Next you'll need to name your blog in the format of Warrior 1 vs. Warrior 2 replacing them with the character's name
Step 3: Write the Battle Infomation[]You now have before you the edit window. Here you will write the text of the battle, introduce the warriors, add any relevant information and present pictures or stats on your chosen warriors. You DO NOT write the battle simulation or the outcome yet.
How to add a Photo[]Photos and images are the best way to present your warrior to the voters. Do do this start by clicking the the "Add photo button" on the left.
Choose your image[]A window will pop up letting you select your images. You can choose from images recently uploaded to the wiki, or upload your own. TO upload your own, click "choose file", select the image of your choice from your computer and click "Upload". Then after choosing whaich image you want, select the size and location of the image on the next window that pops up and click "OK"
How to add a table[]Tables are a great way to lay out your warriors' weapons or compare them to the warrior's opponent To begin select the "Add a table" button on the right.
Choose your settings[]Next a window should pop up, in this window you can choose your settings for the table, including the number of columns and rows. Once you are satisfied with the settings click "OK"
Fill out your table[]Now that your table is in place fill it out with the information you desire (Works similar to Microsoft Word)
Final step:Preview and Publish[]Once you have your battle the way you want it and are confident in your format, you'll need to preview it to check. To do so simply select "Preview" at the top right of the edit window. From here you can spot any mistakes and return to correct them. If you are happy with your layout and are finished simply click "Publish"
Congratulations, you are now a published part of the Deadliest Fiction wiki!
Adding Color Icons[]Many battles feature icons to represent the number of warriors or deaths in the battle simulation. To add them is simple. They can be added much like any other image or by directly typing the source code. To do so simply select the color you want, like green, dark red, or blue, and type [[File:green.png]], [[File:darkred.png]] [[File:blue.png]] For a full list see colors |
