A ruthless serial killer operating in Kansai, Cutthroat was seemingly hired to be caught by the law enforcement of the region. On the day of his execution, multiple Akudama are hired to stage his rescue, with Swindler and Hoodlum accidentally getting caught in the mix. All the Akudama succeed in reaching Cutthroat, who escapes his binds and kills his captors. He then completes his part of the mission, placing bombs on himself and his fellow Akudama. The group then discovers their benefactor; Black Cat, who offers them a reward to retrieve an object from the train heading towards Kanto. Cutthroat agrees, taking an immediate liking to Swindler, and vows to protect her above all else.
After the completion of the heist, where Black Cat is revealed to be an A.I. controlled by two immortal children, the Akudama escort the children to a remote rocket facility in Kansai. The group are betrayed by Doctor, with Cutthroat getting lost in the chaos. He ends up finding his way back to Swindler and Sister, killing anyone he finds on his way, and reveals the source of his fascination with Swindler; his illusion of a grand red halo above her head, with his desire to kill her growing as it has grown. Cutthroat begins to pursue Swindler, but he is tricked by her and killed when she ambushes him and stabs him with a stolen jutte.
Battle vs. Diego Hargreeves (by MovieStuff65)[]
Diego exits a taxi, tossing the driver a quick handful of credits as he quickly steps out to the chaotic street of the Wealthy District. The faint sound of gunfire in the distance got his attention, and he draws a pair of knives as he goes towards it. As he turns the corner, he sees Cutthroat standing over a woman, knife drawn. Cutthroat barely perceives Diego as he thrusts down, preparing to cut her down for getting in his way, until a thrown kunai knocks his blade from his hand. The woman backs away, quietly cursing to herself as Cutthroat stares down Diego.
"Why can't you just stay out of my way!" Cutthroat whines, drawing another knife and running towards Diego. The vigilante throws two more knives at Cutthroat, curving them in the air to attack him from both sides. Cutthroat deflects one as the other sinks into his shoulder, but he barely responds as he tosses his own knife at Diego. He hastily redirects it just as Cutthroat reaches him, who attempts to thrust a newly unsheathed stiletto at him. He knocks aside Cutthroat's wrist and counters with a jab to his nose, smiling as he heard a satisfying crunch.
"That hurt! And you..." Cutthroat says, collecting himself and drawing another knife. "You're filthy. I'll make you all red for getting in my way!" He cackles as he charges, slashing at Diego in a blur. He barely responds in time, falling backwards to avoid the attack.
He draws another kunai and tosses it in the air, bending mid-air towards Cutthroat as it falls while he rolls backwards into a fighting stance. Cutthroat sidesteps and pursues, taking a swipe at the retreating Diego.
"Fast little shit, aren't ya?" Diego asks, blocking Cutthroat's attack and kicking him in the rib. With Cutthroat's back to him, he draws another kunai and slashes at Cutthroat's leg, drawing blood but missing anything vital. Cutthroat responds by backflipping over Diego, butterfly knife in hand as he gracefully lands.
He darts forward and jabs it into Diego's side, eliciting a grunt of pain from the vigilante. He tosses his kunai over his head, guiding it into Cutthroat's hand. The serial killer winces as it tears through, giving Diego enough space to draw two more kunai. He tosses them at Cutthroat's legs, burying each of them to the hilt in his knees.
Even as he falls to the ground, Cutthroat draws another blade and tosses it at Diego, who redirects it back into Cutthroat's chest. "You're so mean!" he yells, struggling as he bleeds out. "But you...you're going to have to do more than that!" Cutthroat yells, leaping forward and wrapping his one functioning hand around Diego's neck.
The vigilante struggles to breath, punching Cutthroat in the gut to no avail as he collapses under Cutthroat's weight. "I wanted to make you red...but this works too!" Cutthroat happily screams, and Diego's vision briefly falters. Reaching around for anything he could use, his grip settles on the knife in Cutthroat's shoulder. He yanks it out and repeatedly stabs Cutthroat in the back.
As the grip around his throat began to loosen, Diego's eyes widen in panic as Cutthroat's laughter continues. He finally musters the strength to headbutt Cutthroat, who recoils and laughs. Diego weakly tosses the knife up, before guiding it back down and skewering Cutthroat's throat. As the blood pours out, Cutthroat's laughter finally stops. His smile gone, Cutthroat collapses, muttering in confusion, dying in a puddle of his blood.
Diego wipes himself off and stands, taking deep breathes to collect himself. "Crazy asshole." He mutters, before standing up straight and pulling out his radio. "Officer Hargreaves calling in. Killer's been eliminated. I need medical on the scene." Diego looks at the corpse, grimacing. "And a body bag for the perp."

Expert's Opinion[]
While Cutthroat's speed and durability made him a challenge for Diego to fight up-close, it was an easy and exploitable strategy that Diego had to counter. The vigilante's greater discipline and his trajectory control allowed him to devise a strategy to get the battle on his terms, while Cutthroat's insanity meant that he couldn't properly defeat Diego before Diego realized his advantages at range.
