The British Army is the land warfare force of the British Armed Forces. The British Army can trace its roots back to the English Army created during the Restoration.
While for a long time the English Army fought without the Scots, since the English and Scottish kingdoms were separate at the time though with the same monarch, this changed when England and Scotland joined to become Great Britain thanks to the Acts of Union 1701. The British Army first saw action in the War of the Spanish succession where they were stationed in the Netherlands.
The British Army has seen major action in most major wars between the world's great powers including the Seven Years' War, the Napoleonic Wars, the Crimean War and the First and Second World Wars. Its victorious were crucial in establishing the United Kingdom as the major power it is today. In the modern day, the British Army most partakes in peacekeeping operations.

Expert's Opinion[]
The Musketeers beat the British Redcoats because of their more accurate primary weapon and because they had actual armor that offered protection against up-close weaponry.

Battle vs. Hessian (by MilenHD)[]
It's been 5 days since the hired Hessian soldiers killed the problematic American rebels and they haven't got their rewards for doing it and they decided to ask the British whats going on. As they were travelling to the nearby cabin, where they saw inside 5 Redcoats planning their next attack and suddenly the door burst open and one of the Hessians shouted with anger
"wo ist unsere Belohnung für mich Rebellen gereinigt zu haben" (Where is our reward? we slayed the rebels!")
As one of the Redcoats turn his head, he said in English hoping the Hessians will understand their language,
"We are not the ones who give the rewards, ask our general, which his camp is south from here."
The Hessians were having none of it and one of them fired their rifle, killing one of the Redcoats in the head.
The Redcoats fired their flintlock pistols wounding two of the Hessians and as the Hessians got away from the cabin, they were met with volley of muskets, shooting down one of wounded Germans.
The Hessians retreated, but the Redcoats followed them at the field, and all of the British man put their bayonets, ready for anything that the Hessians are going to do, as he saw one of the Hessian he fired at him, but missed him narrowly and the Hessian charged at him with his longsword and the Redcoat found his belly pierced.
The next two Redcoats were searching for their third member, who was attack by two Hessians wielding axes, but he fired his pistol killing one of them, then grabbing his fallen comrade gun and stabbing the other Hessian in the heart.
As they found their third member they, decide to find and kill the mercenaries. As they were searching the field, it was getting darker and the wounded Hessian was still able to walk found his other ally and they too went to meet the Brits. The British Redcoats saw them and two of them pulled their officer swords and the other one charged with his bayonet at his gun tip, the Hessians holding their axes charged at them two, except the the wounded one fired his pistol piercing the Brit's heart.
Than both groups charged at each other and started dueling. It wasn't long until somebody drew first blood and that were the Hessians, which one of them decapitated one of the British Redcoats, not long after his teammate to kill him with a stab from his officer sword.
As the captains remained one on one, the circled each other, and the Hessian stroke first with his axe missing narrowly the Redcoat. He swung his axe few times, managing to dominate against the Brit, but the Redcoat stroke first and sliced the handle in two. With no time to waste, the German pulled his longsword and managed to parry a strike from the officer sword's blade, and as he parried the blade, the strike for and final time, piercing the Brit's abdomen and pushed the dead Britishman body away.
The Hessian raised his fist and shouted his war cry in victory.
Expert's Opinion[]
The Redcoats may have better superior experience, as fought around the globe, but the Hessians were more durable, they have better weapons, have equal training as the Redcoats and are much more brutal.

Battle vs. Janissary (by Ffejgao)[]
The die had been cast. The British and Ottoman Empires had been friends for decades. But now they were butting heads.
Somewhere on a coast in Malta, a group of 5 Redcoats had captured a young woman. They wanted to make her tell the location of a secret passageway to Istanbul-underneath the city walls.
"Where is it? WHERE IS THE SECRET PASSAGE?!" the commander said calmly.
"Please, I don't know what you're talking about! Have mercy!" she begged, tears in her eyes.
"I'm losing patience!" The commander was getting more agitated. He readied his pistol. Unknown to them, several Janissaries had sailed out. They wanted to convince the Maltese to side with them and not the British but after disembarking, the commander saw several Redcoats interrogating a local woman.
"Bu korkunç! O zorbalara ne için olduğunu öğretelim!(That is horrifying! Let's teach those bullies what for!)" shouted the commander. Actually, that WAS something he'd totally do without remorse but whatever. The Janissaries charged forward. The battle was on! (Redcoats: 5, Janissaries: 5)
The Redcoats saw the enemy arriving and their commander ordered everyone into formation. The woman ran off, knowing it was a bad idea to be caught in the crossfire. "FIRE!" the commander shouted but he soon got nailed in the throat by a gunshot. (Redcoats: 4, Janissaries: 5)
"Well, guess I got promoted." said one soldier with a shrug. "FIRE!" The redcoats loosed a volley only a few precious seconds after their old commander died. By either panicked aiming or rotten luck, the volley mostly missed except for a shot to one Janissary's throat. Another hit a Janissary's badge and ricocheted off only to hit his companion in the face. (Redcoats: 4, Janissaries: 3) The Janissaries tried for a volley of their own and fired after one charged forward with a grenade who then ducked after his friends fired. This volley ended up with one Redcoat shot through the heart and another shouting in pain after getting hit in the ribcage. One narrowly avoided hitting the commander's head and instead tore through his hat, making him furious over having his hat ripped. The grenade ended up tackled midair by one soldier who then blew to pieces in a pile of blood, bone fragments, and charred flesh. (Redcoats: 2, Janissaries: 3) The redcoats tried to reload for another volley but they were soon getting swarmed by a trio of charging angry Janissaries. The arquebusiers weren't able to reload in time and besides, the match cords were getting wet anyway. The commander ordered them to attack. The British commander drew a pistol and it hit an Ottoman right in the chest, causing the Janissary to collapse while coughing up blood only to be trampled to death. (Redcoats: 2, Janissaries: 2) The soldiers engaged. One Redcoat thrust his bayonet forward and clashed with an axe wielding Janissary. The Redcoat blocked repeated chops from the Janissary while trying to counter with either a club strike or bayonet stab. The Janissary kept pressing his attack. Finally, the Redcoat's side injury was acting up and he missed his thrust while getting an axe strike to the chest. (Redcoats: 1, Janissaries: 2) The commander meanwhile drew another pistol and shot one Janissary through the head and barely missed another who dropped his axe. (Redcoats: 1, Janissaries: 1) Then they drew swords.
"O benim eski okul arkadaşımdı! ödeyeceksin!(That was my old school friend! You're gonna PAY!)" shouted the Janissary.
"It's just you and me now! Bring it!" said the redcoat. They circled around each other, saber and yataghan sword at the ready. Neither could afford a wrong move. The redcoat lunged first with a swipe to the left. The Janissary dodged and tried to stab but he was forced to pull back. Then the redcoat tried for an overhead slash but the Janissary blocked it. He then pushed the Redcoat off him. The Redcoat then tried for his own stab. He got slashed on the leg for his troubles but he successfully stabbed his enemy through the throat. The last Janissary coughed up blood, collapsed, and after a few seconds of a blood puddle forming on the beach, he lay still. The Redcoat shouted "Rule Britannia!" Then he limped off, gasping in pain. He would have to rest and recover before trying to infiltrate Constantinople and demand to speak with the Grand Vizier or Sultan. But after what happened on this day? It would only be the beginning of war!
Winner: Redcoats
Expert's Opinion[]
This was definitely an interesting comparison but if you measured them up against each other, it wasn't hard to pick the winner. The Redcoats had this; They had the superior operational experience, comparable discipline, and a generally superior arsenal. And of course, who made Britannia rule the waves? For a couple centuries at that? Redcoats did that! And it says a lot their empire was the one that constantly innovated and adapted to the point the British Empire remained a superpower until after World War II-long after the Redcoats were gone from the battlefield. The Janissaries for their part had their own advantages. They were better soldiers on average and better trained as they were designed to be elite warriors. This match's winner shows the escalation of technology; Flintlocks beat matchlocks. While some may call foul and demand warriors from the same time period, it wouldn't necessarily work out. The Janissaries experienced a deterioration of fighter quality after the 16th century so 18th century Janissaries wouldn't necessarily fare better. Meanwhile, the Redcoats didn't exist when the Janissaries were at their peak. So in conclusion:
18th century Redcoats vs 18th century Janissaries=Redcoats win.
18th century Redcoats vs 15th-16th century Janissaries(this match)=Redcoats win.
15th-16th century Redcoats vs 15th-16th century Janissaries=Janissaries win by default because the Redcoat didn't exist yet-a match with English Medieval foot soldiers facing the Janissaries is a match for another time.
In this battle, the Redcoats triumph because of their superior weaponry, operational experience, and the fact they weren't too far behind in fighting skill either.

Battle vs. Landsknecht (by The Deadliest Warrior, Jr.)[]
A deserted valley, now a horrific site of a glorious battlefield, lies in ruin. A heap of bodies sits bloodied and rotting. Smoke curls up to the sky and artillery shells and fragments litter the ground. Greedy laughter is heard, and five Landsknecht mercenaries ravage and steal anything of value from the bodies. A feeble soldier stirs, but is killed by a brutal stab downward from a Landsknecht doppelhänder.
As the sounds of the plunder continue in the valley of the slain, five soft footsteps are audible up the hill but the greedy Landsknechts make no notice. They are five English Musketeers. Angered at this slaughter and selfish treatment of the dead, one Musketeer makes careful aim with his Matchlock Musket, hesitates briefly, but fires. One Landsknecht, holding up a gold chain in victory, is struck through the neck and blood spurts on the smoky grass as he slumps over dead.
The other four Landsknechts whirl around and spot three of the Musketeers running down the hill, preparing to engage the enemy. The leader of the Landknechts laughs haughtily and fires his Arquebus Rifle without aiming, as a warning to these brash attackers that the elite Landsknechts are a force to be reckoned with.
The Musketeers push forward, but one is hit in the face by a shot from another Arquebus and he falls back, killed instantly. A grenade flies from the hands of one Englishman and rolls at the feet of the Landknecht who had just shot the other Musketeer. The Landsknecht bends down to throw it back, but the fuse is quite short and the mercenary is blown to smithereens, body parts and signed armor raining to the ground.
The same Musketeer pulls out his Long-Knife and leaps at a Lansknecht, and the two fall into a pile of bodies and roll about in fierce combat. The Landsknecht leader brandishes his Halberd with ferocity, but falls back when a Musket Butt slams into his face. He spins on the spot to see a brave Musketeer about to whack him again, but he swings the axe-head of the Halberd deep into the man's neck and pulls it out with a sickening squelch. He turns to see the Musketeer with the Long-Knife also be overpowered by the Landsknecht, who pushes him over, grabs his Doppelhänder, and stabs it down into the Musketeer's unarmored stomach. The Musketeer coughs up blood and struggles, but when the Landsknech pushes the blade in harder and twists it about, the Musketeer slumps back and relaxes.
The last Musketeer on the field fires his Musket and it hits the Landsknecht with the Doppelhänder in his breatplate. He falls down, winded, but unharmed. Another Landsknecht charges at the Musketeer, brandishing a mean-lookin pike, but the expert Musketeer quickly reloads his rifle and fires right into the Landsknecht's unprotected face. He desperately begins his reload process but the Doppelhänder-wielding soldier rushes at him and he clubs the Landsknecht in the face. As he is about to deliver the finishing stroke, he suddenly falls and behind him stands the Landsknecht leader, Halberd in hand, spear-end bloodied from its most recent sstab.
The two Landsknechts continue to loot the bodies but the Doppelhänder soldier is killed from a distant-sounding shot. Furious by this poinbt, the Landsknecht leader turns to see the Musketeer leader on top of the hill, reloading his Musket. The mercenary runs up the hilll as fast as his armor will allow him, and another shot from the Musket bounces off of his breastplate. Angrily, he slashes at the Musketeer's rifle once he reaches the top of the hill. The gun splinters and gets stuck in the blade. As the Landsknecht kicks back the Musketeer and tries to free his blade, the Musketeer leader jumps back with his Long-Knife and stabs viciously at the Landsknecht's face. Howling in pain, the Landsknecht falls baack and stares up at the Musketeer, outlined by a charred sky, and flinches. The Musketeer spits on the merecenary's face and brings the blade home.
The Musketeer surveys the valley below and shakes his head sadly at all the carnage and wasted lives. He kicks the Landsknecht's body down the hill, where it rolls grotesquely and rests in the pile where the Landsknechts were originally looting. The Musketeer gives a heavy sigh and walks back down the other side of the hill, one tear rolling down his cheek.
Expert's Opinion[]
The deciding factor in this match was the superiority of the Matchlock Musket over its earlier variation in the Arquebus, as well as the fact that the more disciplined Musketeers were able to hold their own against the fickle Landsknecht mercenaries.
