The Beretta Model 38, or MAB 38 (Moschetto Automatico Beretta Modello 1938) was the standard submachine gun of Italian military shortly before and during World War II. Apart from Italy, it was also used by the other Axis nations and by Italian Resistance. It is widely acknowledged as the most successful and effective Italian small arm of World War II.
