While much is debated about the true origin of the platinum dragon, Bahamut is undeniably the oldest and most powerful of the old draconic gods, having ascended to as near true divinity as any being of the mortal plane can. Along with his sister Tiamat, it is believed that Bahamut used his great power to create the Prime Material Plane. He and his draconic kin were content until the Outer Gods invaded their plane, and despite he and Tiamat's resistance they fell in battle. While Tiamat was imprisoned in Avernus, Bahamut fled to Mount Celestia, where he found himself worshipped as a god of dragons among his gold dragon subjects.
Learning of his sister's alliance with devils, Bahamut soon found himself opposing his sister, lamenting their lost companionship and her twisted greed. After his divinity was taken away by the death of his ally Marduk, Bahamut took to wandering the world, doing small acts of justice and kindness under his mortal disguise of Fizban the Fabulous. In his adventures, he encountered the adventurer Gareth Dragonsbane, gifting him with the Tree-Gem to help protect the kingdom of Damara. For his willingness to combat his sister and his good deeds towards their mortal subjects, the Faeruinan gods awarded Bahamut a place in their pantheon, restoring Bahamut to the true godhood of his early life as the God of Dragons and Justicebringer.
