Altera is a Servant from the Fate franchise and a fictionalization of the real-life Hunnic king Attila. Although obsessed with destroying civilization, Altera resents herself for this, viewing herself as nothing but a mindless destroyer.
Despite being remembered in history as the King of the Huns, Altera was not a member of a Hunnic tribe at all, but a remnant of Sefar, a Velbar giant sent to destroy Earth before being slain by the Greek gods. After being found and adopted by the Huns, Altera quickly rose within their ranks, eventually taking control of the entire tribe.
With the Huns at her back, Altera laid waste to the Roman Empire, the biggest civilization in Europe at the time. Despite her military successes, Altera could not achieve any political victories, and her empire collapsed soon after her death.
Having achieved great feats in life, Altera's essence ascended to the Throne of Heroes, becoming a Heroic Spirit. Alter would be summoned by Hakuno Kishinami to fight as their Servant in the Moon Cell Holy Grail Wars, in the Second Singularity by Lev Lainur Flauros as a last-ditch effort to destroy the Chaldea party, before being Ritsuka Fujimaru to assist them in the Grand Order.
