Since were looking through old battles for fairness challenges, I thought I'd add bring up this battle between
John Marston and Cole Phelps.

I propose the following reasons as to why this battle is unfair and/or violates the rules:

1. The Battle mentions Marston's "Deadeye" as an X-factor, which is a game mechanic that, as far as I can tell, is not an actual power Marston possesses in canon. While it could be considered a stand-in for extremely fast reflexes and skilled marksmanship, the blog specifically mentions Deadeye as an actual "superpower" above and beyond mere reflexes, which the games never state that it is.

2. The weapons match-ups are unbalanced, the worst offender being that Marston is given three "explosive" weapons that Phelps is not given a counter to (even though one exists in the game as described below).

While the Match as Tomahawk23 did it is unfair, it is possible that the match-up between John Marston and Cole Phelps could be made fair with the following changes:

1. Do not consider the game mechanic "Deadeye" as an actual superpower above and beyond skilled marksmanship or reflexes, though it may be considered as a reflection of Marston's reflexes.

2. Revamp the weapons list for better balance- something like these examples:

- Revolvers: Schofield (Marston) VS Colt Police Positive (Phelps)
- Pistols: Borchardt C93 (Marston) VS Colt M1911 (Phelps)
- Shotguns: Browning Auto-5 (Marston) VS Winchester Model 12 (Phelps)
- Rifles: Krag-Jorgensen (Marston) VS M1 Garand (Phelps)
- Special/Explosives: Dynamite (Marston) VS M2 Flamethrower (Phelps)

In conclusion, this topic is to determine two things:

A. Is the battle described unfair and/or in violation of the rules?

B. Would the match be considered fair with the following modifications, and should it be opened for users to adopt in a rematch, provided they follow the guidelines listed in Part 2?
